are you by any chance getting a "SIM Failure" message on the phone? If so, this happened to me.

how old is your SIM card? it may need to be replaced, if you have a physical one. now they are offering card-less SIM configuration, but i prefer having a physical card so i can transfer it easily from phone to phone. you can still get a physical card from them and reject the offer.

It’s an iPhone 13 , I don’t believe I have a SIM card
I set up wireless calling for now as long as internet is available
chatted with AI who told me there are some local issues which will be resolved tomorrow

I had Verizon but had to switch to ATT because in the boondocks of Litchfield county where my daughter lives there is/was no other service

Sounds like your phone carrier is putting expansion plans on pause. Maybe they revisit next spring. Until then, good luck!

Switching to the Big Ten by T-Mobile would be a good upgrade. It's usually about bandwith and the sound will come in clear

ATT has a problem in Litchfield county which is resolved for now. Unfortunately they’re the only one with service at my daughter’s middle of nowhere house.
it actually was pretty concerning .
IWe’re in the middle of the woods we didn’t have a car , my son in law and daughter were gone.
We couldn’t make a telephone call or text
So I turned to the Boneyard
You do stupid things like that when you panic.
With some notable exceptions you didn’t disappoint.
I since learned about Wi-Fi calling which works well
