Yeah his natural position is more SF than it is PG. He averaged 1.8 assists and 1.7 TOs at UConn. No shot. Kevin Ollie was an idiot but he wasn't THAT dumb.

But if his coach in Europe wants to showcase the American on the team to get some $, good for them.

He was 2/3 with great athleticism whose handle improved somewhat at UConn. He could put it on the floor in the open but wasn’t a great passer. But we had Adams. We have bad memories of him trying to fill in when Jalen was hurt but how fair is that.
However like some other guys who weren’t natural PG ‘s they got better RB while still a UConn or post College Jerome Dyson and apparently Purvis
If you can make the transition you do because most PG ‘s can be combo’s but few pure two’s can be. When roster spots are limited who are you going to keep?

Ukraine Super Liga, top international league (jest). Good luck to Rodney in Cherkasy (pop 675K) with SP Cherkasy Mavpy ("Monkeys"), and in future Rand McNally opportunities. Not a bad gig playing hoops for dinero, and an ideal opportunity to invest a good chunk of earnings back home vs spending in southern Ukraine.

Every time Rodney got a rebound and came down the court to hoist up a brick without looking for an open man he was a point guard.

Best of luck to RP. The guy bleeds Husky Blue
When he was in the NBA he did have some really nice games
Love those people just can't get stop deriding certain players, some that produced a lot more at UConn than many, even lottery picks.
RP is a great guy and never gave up on the floor.

Would it be safe to call him the streakiest player of all time at UConn? Loved him though. Could never question his effort

Very upbeat UCONN player, liked him but he did step on that line an awful lot. Maybe it just seemed worse than it was. Glad of his success.

Purvis was very athletic and a good ambassador for the team. I think it would have taken someone like Calhoun to straighten out his court awareness and focus on fundamentals. JC seemed to find the right recipe for anyone who had a thick enough skin to take his in-your-face style. Like calling a timeout 30 seconds into the game on someone who did something stupid. I think Rodney probably had a pretty thick skin. That might have been a great experiment to watch.

Umm, thanks for sharing?
Sorry if the truth hurts. His tweet is referring to his shortcomings bc he was playing out of position. That’s not the case. For a 5* player out of high school he didn’t live up to the hype.

If you look at his tweet which why this thread is made his blame is on the coaches not playing him at the correct position. Why not be a better player?! It’s the Ben Simmons effect blaming others except your game. If he had worded it differently I wouldn’t say what I said.
An average college player sees zero time in the NBA.

So an average player gets a drink of water in the NBA? Who Knew!
