RIP Taylor Hawkins

Wow, very sad news. Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters has passed away. No official word on cause of death.

Awful, what a spirit this guy had.

Seeing this, my mind instantly went to one of my 7th grade students who is a drummer and whose favorite band is Foo Fighters. Her parents brought her for her first concert to see Foo Fighters in Bridgeport...

My first thought on header, "Can't be the Foos guy, so what team did Taylor Hawkins play for?"

He and Dave had a great thing going. Surprised and sad to learn this.

I know he had problems with drugs in the past. Hopefully he didn’t go back to that. Gone WAY too soon. Saw them at CalJam in San Bernardino in 2017. Amazing show. RIP

Went to UConn during the height of Grunge. Love Nirvana, Grohl, Foos. Devastating. Gone too soon.

Saw them at Fenway with Royal Blood & Dropkick Murphys. Incredible show.

Hawkins was my favorite drummer back in high school when I was just getting into playing, I loved his energy and he had a great voice. Such awful news, but unfortunately not terribly shocking. RIP Taylor, you brought a lot of smiles to a lot of people.

They are also supposed to be headlining the New Orleans Jazz Fest before that.

Foo Fighters are also scheduled to play at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona in May. They canceled their show last night in Bogota, Columbia but are scheduled to play tomorrow (3/27) at Lollapolooza Brazil.

As someone older, 50 is way too young to die. RIP
