Bueckers is eligible in 2023 draft

Correct. Paige is eligible in 2023, Azzi in 2024. Both could leave after 3 years, in successive years. Based on the Covid extension, Paige could stay for 5 years.

If we are going to start actually defining a “ generational” player shouldn’t there be just one in a generation?
Don't confuse these "generational" guys. They're crowning 2-3 a year before their careers even start. Generations now last about 12-18 months.

So Paige and Azzi are the only dynamic duo in WBB that are working out? Is this the gist of this informational post ?

Or none, until one shows up? Objective measures abound but the nature of the mind and its depth are seen in anecdotal prisms of "experts" - there are not enough difficult tests such talents face in HS to even have any idea of their dimensions.

Her (Paige) greatness happened and was on display this past year but she learned that in order to grow and sustain it, there are more things - little things - to take care of, especially the way Arizona manhandled her in the SF. Best friend Azzi witnessed first hand what happened and learned along with her friend, also received a running report on the learning experience at UConn as the year progressed. Both are determined to do all they can to ensure they reach their stated goal: multiple NCs for UConn while they are there. I do not think they are alone in this serious venture of preparing themselves and their bodies.

They are determined not to fail: the Final Four next year is in Minneapolis, the site of the 1995 first UConn NC! Full circle for the 12th! to kick start what shall go on beyond....

We have seen and heard many more girls coming out of High School saying that they want to win four National Championships since Stewie, Tuck & Mo Jeff accomplished the feat. However, most of them are rationally choosing UCONN, as the only coaching staff still together that has had ANY back-to-back Championships is Geno, CD & Company. Paige, Edwards, Azzi, & now Patterson come to mind for UCONN, but Boston (SC) and Jones (Stanford) are also in that camp.

Paige and Edwards still have a shot if they can get past the early eligibility (Paige), and normal eligibility (both Paige & Edwards) along with Azzi's early eligibility. Being able to monetize their popularity might help in that resolve...

Another thing as for decision points would be the Olympic team in 2024 - only three years away with the current edition not played yet - how many college players would be invited to Dawn's team (assuming she is still the National Team Head Coach then)...

You could also make the argument of Bird and Taurasi who were even closer. Probably need a better word rather than generational to describe these players since there have been a bunch in the last 20 years.

There are players that became "generational" talents but were they labeled that coming out of HS? that's the difference here with Paige/Azzi. Sue and Diana playing in the same backcourt looking back at it is astonishing because we know what they became. Was Sue Bird considered a generational talent or a piece of great recruiting class? Did anyone really think that Diana would become arguably the greatest women's college bballer ever when she was at Don Lugo HS in Chino, Ca?
I don't know if there is a better word to describe this kind of talent, transcendent maybe? but generational is the term that has always been used.
I think that's exactly the right word.
