These conferences are eerily similar. It is just that ACC schools are underachieving right now and made some terrible coaching hires (i.e. OBrien, Edsall, Butch Davis, Spaz)

FSU = USC (Historically dominant programs)
Miami = UCLA (Underachieving now, but tons of potential)
Maryland = Oregon (UA vs. Nike)
Clemson = Oregon State (Not a good comparison, but works this year)
Duke = Stanford (Academic excellence, not a good comparison in football anymore)
UNC = Washington (Great potential, strong academics)
UVA = Cal (Had a few good seasons but now struggling, strong academics)
BC = WSU (Doormats)
NCState = ASU (Lots of potential, always underachieving)
VTech = Utah (BCS contenders last few years, struggling lately)
Wake = Colorado (Hopeless)
GTech = Arizona (Middle of the pack)

Recruiting:
Pac-12 - California
ACC - Florida (+NC/VA)

Actually looking at this the ACC members have much more upside. I think Larry Scott just took Swofford to school in the TV Rights negotiations.

A for effort, few notes:

- FSU was prominent with one coaching tenure, USC is one of the most celebrated cfball programs in country
- UCLA has the most NCAA titles in history. A prominent institution, Miami is neither of these, a small liberal arts rich kid school
- Duke vs. Stanford, probably closest comparison
- UNC vs UW?? Most unrealistic, UNC is a great, top 10 state school with rich athletics and hot coeds, UW is none of these
- ASU vs. NCST, decent comparison, though NCST a much better school
- UVA vs. CAL, yes, good one
- Maryland vs Oregon, yes, good one
- I would switch and have Clem vs. Arizona and GTech vs. OSU

And once again the old maxim must be stated... TV rights deals are about whos watching, not whos winning.

UW has a very good reputation as far as grad school and research, I wouldn't discount them too far academically. I can't comment one way or the other on their coeds though I'm sure UNC has a major advantage.

I was at their basketball game yesterday vs. Seton Hall at Mohegan Sun. UW girls are NOT impressive.

I'm guessing that was a sample size of about 5?

UW has the best medical school in the country. Better than Harvard's.
