These conferences are eerily similar. It is just that ACC schools are underachieving right now and made some terrible coaching hires (i.e. OBrien, Edsall, Butch Davis, Spaz)
FSU = USC (Historically dominant programs)
Miami = UCLA (Underachieving now, but tons of potential)
Maryland = Oregon (UA vs. Nike)
Clemson = Oregon State (Not a good comparison, but works this year)
Duke = Stanford (Academic excellence, not a good comparison in football anymore)
UNC = Washington (Great potential, strong academics)
UVA = Cal (Had a few good seasons but now struggling, strong academics)
BC = WSU (Doormats)
NCState = ASU (Lots of potential, always underachieving)
VTech = Utah (BCS contenders last few years, struggling lately)
Wake = Colorado (Hopeless)
GTech = Arizona (Middle of the pack)
Recruiting:
Pac-12 - California
ACC - Florida (+NC/VA)
Actually looking at this the ACC members have much more upside. I think Larry Scott just took Swofford to school in the TV Rights negotiations.
