If you actually read the article it mentions the rehab and says she is STILL doing it. Now if she went to play for the Croatian national team she may very well have hurt it again. At least staying here she is in a controlled situation where it can be monitored. So it sounds like that's exactly what she's doing.

Sorry, not much facts that I based the suggestion on, just think it is a wise idea for her to take care of her ankle given it could be problematic if she does not.
