And Nate has had his own injury hiatory already. I have no idea how genetic predisposition for this stuff goes, but it's certainly concerning. Any insight @Doctor Hoop ?
Does he actually have a recurring injury history? All that was mentioned was the ACL tear.

If Bouknight didn't tear up his knee in high school I'm sure his final 5 schools would've been something more like Duke, UK, UNC, KU and UConn not Miami, VT, VCU and Indiana.

As long as it isn't a recurring thing like AG or Juwan Durham's injuries the one ACL tear could deter some big competition in his recruitment.

Bouknight said a big reason he cut to those 5 schools is because they didn't move on from him after this injury, I hope and trust Hurley's staff didn't do that with Santos. When his recruitment takes off again that loyalty will pay dividends.

Since the Ollie era began I can visualize Ollie now Hurley staring down at the end of the bench wondering why he does have s shooter to turn to in the clutch. IT BECAUSE YOU DON'T RECRUIT ONE.

Well, Polley was close, and now hurt - so we still need a shooter. A shooter is Rashad. Comes off the bench and makes threes. Polley needs a lot of warming up to get into a groove..

Dead on correct. If he didn't waste all those attempts warming up, instead of wasting our time at 40% he could be shooting 54% or something.

Am I the only one to be convinced that this person has to be a troll?

No I'm 100% convinced it's a troll. If I thought it was a serious attempt I might have gone beyond the 10 seconds it took to google a picture of Polley

I'm happy I'm not the only person that reacted and had 40% flash in my mind! I decided to let it go... Back to my ball swing workout!

Actually, Chief knew what she meant. Rash was a microwave type shooter who could come into a game and instantly make shots. Tyler needs to get into the flow of the game before he develops the swagger with his shot.

I just watched his highlights and half a game.

Things to like:
- Clearly a knockdown, elite shooter. Catch and shoot, or dribbling with his right hand (not left).
- Good size and build
- Had a couple-few left-hand finishes at the rim

Concerns:
- Injury history
- Didn't have any "wow me" athletic or toughness plays.
- Didn't demonstrate any creativity passing.

The athleticism is likely a concern for Hurley with his uptempo intense defense. But it's also hard to turn down a local elite shooter with size. I suspect we offer by May
we don't need a freak athlete as we'll have several next year. What we need is a knockdown shooter with size. the other two concerns are nitpicking

Bouknight took his spot going forward. It sucks for Polley as he did improve and give us that shooter who can catch and shoot off of screens, but he will be a great first off the bench sub
Polley played in 80 games and made 97 threes, a little more than one three a game. He had virtually no midrange game and his overall shot percentage was very close to his three point percentage, meaning he shot about 40% from two point range and on layups.
His last game was by far his best game as he was really starting to develop his game.
But, I do not believe his stats qualify him as a knock down shooter.

Trying to figure out how to best utilize Polley's shooting going forward is huge for next year's team.
With Vital gone, UConn needs shooters. How effectively Polley can play the 3 or 4 and earn minutes is something the staff needs to lay out and Polley then needs to do it.

Ideally he becomes first player off the bench and provides a shooting spark.

IF and that's a huge IF, he can play like he did his last game before the knee injury, he's the starting four and playing 30 min a game.

IF his knee and rehab take time and he can't effectively move, he's a spot up specialist whose minutes will greatly vary depending on matchups and score.

It was against Tulane. He also isn't going to start over Akok when Akok is healthy. Look at his stats against every other team, he was basically a black hole. He would be a huge asset coming off the bench which is something we need.

Keep in mind he’s roughly the same size as Delaire was as a junior. A better shooter and infinitely more athletic. Top 2021 prospect in CT we need to offer.

He is a fantastic shooter, good size, and finishes with both hands. But you really overstate his athleticism when you post about him. You don't keed to exaggerate for it to be obvious he's a solid player.

With his injury history, he still needs to prove himself on the circuit this summer. Hard Tyler Phommachanh pass up a shooter though

when you look at the scouting report preinjury it’s 1. Athleticism 2. Shooter. It’s hard to find these 6’7 guards who can shoot I think we should offer before he drops 25 in the live period for New Heights, which he’s all but certain to do.

I have watched all the highlights and 2 games and don't see a "wow" athletic play. Doesn't mean he isn't an above average athlete overall, but he isn't for d1 ball.

Does he not play for mac irvine fine any more?

He's 6 foot 7 and can hit three pointers. Ranked top 75 in the nation as a recruit (Just one piece to consider, not everything) He's a good enough athlete to play D1 with that skill set. He just needs to be average at handling, jumping and passing if he can shoot 40% from 3. He doesn't need to be the best on the floor at any of those things if he's a knock down shooter.

was just looking at the 247 2021 rankings and noticed Santos went from top 75 for most of the year to NR
