I think the top of the conference is a little stronger than I expected. It’s not quite as deep as I thought.

Better than expected: UConn, Xavier, Marquette, Providence (ugh)

Worse than expected: Creighton (but they’re better than their record), Villanova, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Georgetown (I thought they’d be a little better)

About as good as expected: Butler, DePaul

It’s worth noting that the four teams who are better than expected are much better than most expected. The teams who are disappointing are not huge disappointments, except for maybe Nova. I think we’ll be a five-bid league, but all five teams will be good enough to win some games in the tourney.

Not really. The middle of the league is very questionable: Villanova, Creighton, Seton Hall, St. John's are all worse than expected.

NBE is nearly as strong top to bottom as the SEC or BIG10 but is in the top 4 no doubt.

I knew someone by that name from Stamford High School; mid to late 1970's.

I hope the OP knew enough to use a somewhat anonymous identity.

I thought this was going to be a thread asking advice on divorce and I was prepared to find this place even more entertaining than I already do

I love St. John’s and Mike Anderson. I hope they can make a run to the NCAA tournament. I’d hate to have to play them.

Not ready to give up on St. John's ability to upset teams including us. They have had some very close ones they've lost.
I watched that St. Johns/Xavier "All Access" game and was startled to see how undisciplined St Johns was. They did virtually nothing that their coach told them to do

Still, they managed to come back from a substantial deficit and nearly pulled the rabbit out of the hat.

They do have talent. But unless and until they take their coaching seriously, they pose much less of a threat.

Agreed. But on any given day it's possible for them to pull an upset.

If you want to make a little money on St John’s, bet them to cover in the first half and then blow it in the second half. Team is so self destructive and undisciplined. They have just as many weapons as most big east teams, but they implode unless they run away from another undisciplined team.
