Moss growing, bare spots, a lot of weeds in the back. Crabgrass almost erry where.

Just dropped pre emergent. 2 years now and the lawn looks worse

Where are you located? Do you have any roses nearby? Sandy soil or clay?

This spring I will be using lime for the first time ever. The lawn moss has exploded in the back year and the front lawn, too. I hope lime will help balance ph and then I can seed.

Subterranean vermin have been brutal.

Subterranean vermin have been brutal.
Might seem gross but mix some cod liver oil with water and spray it on your lawn - that will get rid of the moles and voles - they hate the oil on their fur

Anyone's lawn covered with this stuff? Looks like maple tree saplings, but I doubt I have 1000 of them in my lawn. Any idea what it is?

My yard is horrific too. I did the Scotts 4 stage plan last year and it's worse than ever. Weeds are rampant, moss is taking over areas where I can't grow grass and chipmunks are tunneling everywhere. Getting too old for the upkeep.
