What!!??

Maybe a National Pride thing since Cambage has taken herself out of the National team wrecking their potential to medal. Also, World games in Australia so this may be a specific focus for that

If she is thinking of the WNBA, she better at least get some games in this season in the WNBL.

She did even better in her second game with 36 points and 15 rebounds in under 20 minutes.

Any chance a return to the W is in the cards? Happy to see she's back but it also saddens me that we've missed out on a full decade with her.

Yep. I've pondered many times what her career would've turned out like without the injuries cutting it so short. I think she'd be on a very short list for best ever in the WNBA.

I think she's on the short list even in just 10 full years. 3 MVPs, 1 Defensive MVP, 2 titles, 7x 1st Team All WNBA. Only missed making an All WNBA team her first 2 years and competed with brutal competition for those 3 spots in the forward/center category. Only Swoopes and Leslie tie her MVP count, and Jackson was painfully close to getting a 4th MVP in 2006 when she got more 1st place votes than Swoopes (20 to 16) but lost overall points (325 to 327).

Okay...maybe without the lost years, she'd be hands down the GOAT?

Will FIBA allow her to play in WC if she, presumably, tests positive for cannabis?

What a really cool story! Thanks for sharing.

Fans of women's basketball should all be excited to know Lauren's back on the court, almost aged 41, whether it leads any farther than the Aussie league or not. She was a joy to watch play before her knees betrayed her... any serious list of the very top all-time women's players should include Lauren Jackson.

She's one of my favorite players ever. To me one of the GOAT's. I always think if I wanted to create the perfect big, they would play like Lauren Jackson. Super skilled, intensely competitive, great on both ends of the floor. Happy that she is doing what she loves..

ESPN ranked Jackson 7th in their WNBA's greatest players of all time.

Jackson didn't even make the conversation for GOAT from Andscape, they listed the ESPN Top 10 except Jackson (ESPN Rank).

Parker (9th), Leslie (5th), Catchings (2nd), Moore (4th), Taurasi (1st), Cooper (3rd), Fowles (10th), Swoopes (6th), Bird (8th)

Lauren Jackson was truly one of the greats who could never seem to stay healthy for whatever reason. She had a lot of injury issues but when she was playing and overall healthy she was often the best player on the floor and one of the best in the world.

EDD reminds me of Jackson in so many ways.
