Makur Maker to Howard was just the start...

This week North Carolina A&T signed their highest ranked recruit of all-time with top-150 prospect Duncan Powell and Howard signed top-175 forward Kuluel Mading today, their second highest ranked recruit behind Maker.

With the recruiting rise of HBCU's and also notable improvements in recruiting within the WCC, I'm all for more programs getting higher ranked talent.

Also, it's cool to see young black kids more aware of HBCUs and what they provide for the fabric of our nation. You see lots more recruits sign elsewhere, but mention HBCUs in the top lists.

Whereas ten years ago, HBCU's would not waste resources on recruiting top 200 kids, now you see them reaching out believing they may have a shot. You will see recruits choosing HBCU's more frequently, given police shootings, BLM, all leading to a heightened awareness of black consciousness and of the legacy of HBCU's, particularly in those households where the parents are alums of these institutions.

Wait until the games start getting played. These recruits will get so much publicity each game because of the boldness of their decisions. People that don't even follow cbb will know about them.

This is great to see. I would love to see it ramped up much more where a couple of HBCU's become perennial top 25 type teams.

This is really good for college basketball
Glad these kids go with their head/heart and not be a pawn of the recruiting gods
Love it
