Is that really a rule? If so why?
It's an old rule that really needs to change, some conferences allow intra-conference transfers but you have to sit out a year, but even those are starting to change. Big East is about to be 2 steps behind, with the current transfer climate it's really a ridiculous rule

Pretty common -- just a reciprocal thing. Don't want conference members raiding each other.

Georgetown went from Euphoria to agony in one week. Amazing. We are so lucky, imagine AJax just deciding to transfer. We complain about a lot but Hurley really has this thing stable in an era of complete unsability

GTown fans seem to think it has everything to do with Mutumbo coming in, which is a fair point I guess, but I don’t think that’s it. With Bile likely leaving there is PLENTY of room for Wahab on that team. I can’t picture playing time being a factor.

This is SHOCKING!
Qudus has come along extremely well under Ewing's tutelage and there is nobody better equipped to teach big men than Ewing.
Really a foolish move.
GTown was looking so promising. He should'nt be scared off by Mutombo as they can play together.

No transfers within the Big East so even if we wanted him, can't happen
I didn't realize that's even still a rule, why is the Big East so behind on this? They're going to be left in the dust if they don't get with the program.

I guess things are still not okay in Hoya land, awful news for them.

Gasped out loud reading that headline. Guess we'll learn more soon.

This is very surprising. Shocking. He had a really good year and I can't imagine a better coach for his game.

There's no way he's scared off by Ryan Mutombo. Ewing was saying he thinks Wahab was going to become the best big in the country, Mutombo is a project. It has to be something else and looks really bad after already having his star backcourt of McClung and Akinjo plus another player leave.
