Finally watched this game. A very up and down game for Azzi against a top-10 team in the country. She looks pretty healthy to me which is the best news. She forced more shots than I was expecting and wasn't her usual super efficient self, but a down game for her is a great game for most. I definitely like her teammate Delaney Thomas too, the 6-2 sophomore forward ranked in the top-25.

Fudd's final line including her desperation miss from 30 feet at the buzzer:

34 points (14-30 FG, 4-10 3-PT, 2-3 FT), 11 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists

34/11/4/5 is a down game? The bar for Azzi is rather high.

When she is comfortable with her teammates and doesn't need to force shots, you won't see many of those. I think Paige has forced only 5-6 shots this year, and most were at the end of the shot clock. Neither Azzi nor Paige forces many shots, under normal circumstances.

Yeah! The more I watch DeBerry, I see another Olivia. Ice may be our hope for a big. I hope I am wrong. Girl's high school basketball usually is so hard to watch.

Azzi Fudd played Friday and while there are no stats available yet there is a highlight package. You'll notice her doing very Azzi things. Also, her impressive teammate Delaney Thomas #24 is in it hitting a jumper and scoring under the basket. Hoping Thomas is on UConn's radar.

@Sluconn Husky if I remember correctly Delaney Thomas played with Azzi on GTS Fusion and has interest in playing for UCONN per one of the GTS fusion video posted here in the summer. Don't know if UCONN has interest.

Big battle in Indiana 4A regional semis Saturday pitting Ayanna Patterson against Ashlynn Shade.

Patterson and Homestead escaped with the win in overtime to advance to the state regional final.

Patterson: 19 points

Shade: 27 points

I guess they aren't extending it. We'll probably know more soon.

Delaney Thomas looked pretty good- hopefully she grows an inch or two more. Could be a real threat on the wing if she gets to 6'3" or better. She does everything well right now but would need to develop something outstanding. Good enough perimeter defender right now she had that one block and coast to coast near the end of the game.
