Alba Torrens and Tamara Abalde, who just played against Kia the other day, both had virus tests come back positive. Torrens would be a big miss for Spain, but if the results are confirmed and they cannot play, it is much better for this to happen now then after rosters can no longer be changed.

Torrens, I think, is Spains tallest player, at 6'3". That will hurt, especially if they cant replace her. Carrera is young, 19, and will need to be very good.
Ndour is their tallest player. They also had Gil on their original roster and she is more of a traditional post than Torrens even though they are around the same height. Torrens and Abalde were replaced by Laura Quevedo, who is a true SF, and Paula Ginzo, who is a PF.

Belgium loses to Bosnia and Herzegovina 70-55. JJ had alot to do with the win (Rebounds and great passes out of the post to the 3 pt snipers) but she also was pretty careless with the ball. Meessemen was good but Allemond was just ok.

Gabby had 8 point and 7 rebounds in 21 minutes in France's 105-63 win over Croatia:
France v Croatia boxscore - FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 - 17 June - FIBA.basketball

Starting point guard Olivia Epoupa was injured two minutes into the game so Gabby could be asked to do more playmaking. The other natural point guard on the roster is Alix Duchet who is at best a competent backup.

5 points in 21 minutes for Gabby in France's 71-51 win over the Czech Republic.
Czech Republic v France boxscore - FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 - 18 June - FIBA.basketball

The coach adopted an interesting strategy without a starting point guard and had Gabby and the other two best playmakers start together and just ran point guard by committee.

France bounced B&H from the Eurobasket Quarterfinals. Jonquel Jones had 29 points and
24 boards in the loss. So I guess JJ will be returning to the Sun within the next few days.
They need her.

The quarterfinal losers have to play one more game to determine the last spots from Europe in World Cup Qualifying. Bosnia and Herzegovina plays Sweden... the other game is Spain-Russia! France plays Belarus in one semifinal and Belgium plays Serbia in the other one. Also, the teams in France travel to Spain for the rest of the tournament.

Stats links for all of today's games are here:

Croatia really missed having Marija Rezan at center, but she could not play due to being pregnant. One of their older point guard options is injured and they really could have used somebody who could have facilitated better as they just kind of winged it when it came to figuring out who would initiate the offense. Hard to know if that person would have been Nika, but I think that she would have made the team if she attended training camp.

Gabby has 8 points in 18 minutes in a 73-61 France win to reach the finals:
Belarus v France boxscore - FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 - 26 June - FIBA.basketball

Quick recap of the other games:

France should be considered the favorites in the final, but Serbia, especially with Sonja Petrovic announcing that she will retire after the Olympics, will be very motivated and have had to play tougher games to get to this point. Spain loses to Russia so they are out of the next world championship unless they win Olympic gold.
