He's AG going to the basket just fall, get the shot blocked and hope they call a foul. He shouldn't go to the basket unless he has a plan to drop it off to a big, otherwise no reason it's basically a turnover.
The key with Cole is 'is he coachable' enough to change and improve. There's still time in that we have had a disjointed season. He soon needs to recognize this ain't Howard Univ. competition.

Just saying he's got a little something to work with, but can't get into bad habits (coaching) on a new team. He's not a pass first guard which sucks for our point with so much potential talent around him. He drives too deep getting his shot misdirected.

Can the staff turn him into a credible point guard instead of combo?

Staff went all in on RJ and it looks like that may have been a mistake . I know we have no one better , but not sure he’s a reliable starter on a good team .
I’m sure when the staff recruited Gaffney they anticipated him being much better than he is at this point in his career. Cole had a very good game against St. John’s but as we have discussed in length he just isn’t quick enough and is not a good passer to be a difference maker at the high D1 level. Hurley gets an A+ with Bouk but a C with Cole and D with Gaffney.

Donny Marshall commented that he never saw anything like it, with Uconn's players not helping the others out on defense. Maybe they never saw a 5 out smaller team before ?

UConn has two players that know how to play help defense: Whaley and Carlton. When we go small, none of the guards play any help defense. If only one of Whaley or Carlton are on the court, the other team can dump it into the post, and then have the post up player passing to a curling cutter. Whaley is on the post player, so he can't help, and it turns into a layup for the cutter.

Butler and St. Johns both ran the same play on us multiple times.

The team drives like my wife's entire side of the family . . . poorly, and often with bad results.
It sounds like you don't get into their car for any excursions.

Or, maybe you did, and lived to tell about it.
