Hope to see Lou...and Dorka back on campus in the future and/or in the stands of UConn games.

Boneyard members are aware of the complexities of the UConn offense and defense. For a newcomer, learning and executing those systems during the short preseason is an extraordinary accomplishment. It was a seamless transition from a limited backup to starter. Lou will provide an immediate impact for the WNBA team that is smart enough to draft her in the first round. She deserves all the love and credit this forum can provide.

Remember back in August, when it was fi reported that Lou would be joining us and we were all wondering if she could adjust to playing at this level? Little did we know that not only would she make the adjustment, but that she would be a starter the entire season, and be one of the most dependable and consistent players.

Yep, some folks dismissed Lou, because she had played for Fairfield. Some of us read articles, looked at stats, and watched her videos and were convinced she would be an impact player. I was rather optimistic, but Lou was even better than I thought: First-Team All-Big East and 9th in the nation in 3-point shooting. She truly is a bucket. We’ll miss her!

Lou showed great courage in our game against Ohio. She will be a great asset to any team. I wish her a successful career in the professional arena and on the French National team! Go Lou!
No doubt Lou's brief association with Geno and his program will enhance her profile to the extent that WNBA coaches and GMs at least know who she is now. That may have not been the case this time last year. I would really like to see Lou catch on with a team that will take a chance on her and give her an opportunity to show what she can do at that level over the course of a season.

When assistant coach Morgan Valley saw her name in the transfer portal, she immediately began doing some research viewing game films, and reaching out to the Fairfield head coach, Joe Frager, to find out whether she would be a fit at UConn. Frager who has known UConn coach Auriemma for decades, "understood the demands of the Huskies program" and responded that she would be "more than fine at UConn". ( he was right!!) Valley shared the video clips with Auriemma and the rest of the UConn staff which led to zoom meetings with Sénéchal while the UConn coaches were in Minneapolis for the Final four.

At Fairfield, virtually all the scoring plays were run through her. The initial expectations were that Sénéchal would play more of a reserve role, and it was important that she feel comfortable with this change. Her goals were to get a shot at playing pro, and she felt that even a reduced role at UConn would provide the visibility and competition that would help earn a spot on a WNBA roster.

While Auriemma originally expected he would get some minutes, he upgraded his opinion after a few days of practice. “After the first five days, I pretty much said, ‘Someone who was a starter isn’t going to start this year,’” Auriemma said. “That’s how impressive she was.”

Don't forget, Lou has three things going for her.
1. She a product of Geno Auriema's system, coaching, and tutelage.
2. She is a BIG guard at 6'1".
3. She's a "mature" 24 years old. She's already older than some second-year players in the league.
