'I don't think he's ever forgotten his roots': UConn coach...

It's a great story if you subscribe to The Athletic, but it's basically Cavanaugh talking about a trip to Costa Rica he took with new Rangers coach David Quinn and another coach when they were all NCAA assistants.

Quotes from The Athletic:

"He told me he was going to turn it down, which I guess he originally did do,” Cavanaugh said. “When he told me that, I totally understood why. He loved and was very passionate about Boston University. Most people would say, ‘How could you possibly turn it down, go.’ He’s not in this for the status. He wants to win, but he also wants to be able to make a difference.”

"“Believe me, he will be fine. He’s very confident with who he is as a person. The Rangers have spelled it out to him. They need someone to develop their young players. He will be just fine. … He’s a great communicator, very bright and intelligent."

Nice quotes, thanks for sharing. I had no idea Quinn and Cav were that close.
