He posted this today, not sure if he is aware of the rumors that Big 12 may be headed toward a compromise leading to no expansion....but here goes anyway:

None of this is written in stone–or even ink–yet.

But here’s what could happen in the next several days, weeks and months involving the Big 12 conference in its continuing struggle to elevate its status among the Power 5 conferences.

A vote or a consensus will be achieved on the Big 12’s proposal to schedule a football championship game by getting an exception to the 12-team minimum rule. It will not pass.

Another proposal about staying at 10 teams, but holding a championship game between the two top seeded teams is also being discussed.

If that fails, the Big 12 schools could then decide that their best move to create an an equal opportunity in the College Football Playoff system will be to expand from 10 teams back to 12 teams, create two divisions, and schedule a championship games.

The pool of teams under consideration will include Houston, BYU, Cincinnati, two teams from the American Athletic Conference, UCF and USF and …the University of Connecticut.

Houston will not make the cut because of strong opposition from the University of Texas. BYU will have a problem because of its “non sporting eventson Sunday” policy, which leaves four schools for two spots–UConn, Cincinnati, UCF and USF.

And from that group of Four, UConn, for a variety of reasons, has emerged as major player in joining West Virginia as the Big 12’s only Eastern time zone entry.

Sources familiar with the situation say the Huskies are very much in the middle of the Big 12 expansion discussion.

Also mentions Michigan getting closer to an AD decision.
