I am sure lawyers have been looking for outs from the GOR for a while.
The only hope for outs, I think, is that ESPN and Fox are in cahoots to fashion a Tier 1 league with a north-south leagues and having all the major brands...big playoff games and champs meet in college super bowl.
There would then maybe be enough of a money incentive for ESPN to facillitate a way out of the GOR....and pay more money than they are now for several teams in their inventory on the cheap.
ESPN would not do that, I don't think, until Notre Dame nails down a new NBC contract. That would keep Notre Dame out of Fox's inventory for a while.
And ESPN would need to fashion a tier 2 league..and may wish to retain some brands.
