It depends. Are there hungry young males in the group? They love buffets. And how good is the buffet? I have never found this place's Sunday buffets to be sad:

Whatever you do - don’t go to River in Wethersfield. The chili is good - everything else is a complete disaster.

Water's Edge is far and away the best brunch ive been too. It's not centrally located, but its well worth it!

You just haven't been to the right places. Not a fan of buffets but brunch is amazing. You get everything from breakfast to lunch foods plus

If I'm going out to eat the last thing I want is lukewarm food that's been sitting in a warming tray that other people have been serving themselves out of.

Avon Old Farms used to be very good. Unless it's a whole bunch of little kids.

It’s a good location. Nice view. They have zero idea how to run a restaurant. Go in 12 months when there is new ownership.

Seriously Dakota is 500x better.

breakfast buffets are awesome. there just isn’t a good one in Hartford.

I went to the one at Mohegan last week. Not great either.

Dakota is good as far as location goes and the selection is decent. Also found a place down in Seymour called something like The 1794 House. Dakota sounds better. I may still go with a traditional dinner at an Italian restaurant. I know one run by a friend and one owned by extended family. It is a college graduation celebration and I thought the kids would like a buffet.
