The only issue I had with this is Baylor at #7. I know they have a superstar player but I don't see them being that good. I don't think they will win their conference this year.
The BIG 12 has a lot of questions this year. I didn't think Iowa State would be at 12 personally.

I'm think I recall Texas lost a fair anount, but I'd be surprised if they don't finish higher than 25.
Totally agree. I’m really not convinced Collier was all that special. Seemed like she vanished in every game that mattered (that I saw). Of course, Taylor and Lambert are gone too. I don’t have a problem not having TX in there right now but can’t imagine a world where they aren’t a 6-seed or higher come NCAAT season.

It takes time to integrate new pieces, of course, but Vic really got a great sweep of talent in the door this year. Tons of freshmen talent to complement the returning Allen-Taylor/Warren guard core.

I have to admit the Elite 8 run last year was as impressive as it was unexpected and would seem unlikely to repeat this year due to the stack at the top of the poll, but I suppose if it happened once it could certainly happen again.

I’m most curious to see if Aaliyah Moore lives up to her recruitment ranking. 6’1” doesn’t seem tall enough for a Big 12 forward, but I imagine (and hope) I’ll be wrong. Vic sure did a job with Anriel Howard at MSST.

Kentucky 13.

Georgia unranked (but close)

Flip those two. and then there's the Baylor ranking
Yup. Or you can sneak UK into the 20s, but the UGA erasure is baffling to me.

I get they didn’t live up to their 3-seed, but they got bounced in the second round, not the first - so they made it to the round of 32, which should put them on the fringe of the poll (where they find themselves today) as a floor, so to speak. They returned arguably their two most important players and added a couple of high school AA talents.

Just feels like a big miss by the media. And Crème has them as a 10 in his bracketology?! I get that none of it really matters as it’s all speak and no game, but how is a team returning Staiti and the SEC Co-DPOY Morrison going to lose 7 seeding spots??

I’m no brilliant mind but I feel like some of these things are so easy and yet are totally botched every year.

They did but they also gain a lot.

Lost Collier to the W, Celeste Taylor to transfer and Kyra Lambert to graduation. But they bring in a great freshman class with Aaliyah Moore, Rori Harmon, Latasha Lattimore and Kyndall Hunter. I will really have my eye on Harmon; I watched her play in her junior year of HS (just before COVID hit, sigh) and she is electric.

I can understand the skepticism. When I think of Moore, thoughts of Naz Hillmon come to mind. Hillmon's considered undersized for the position, but it doesn't deter her in the post.

I think Howard was a very special athlete (She still holds the NCAAT record for most rebounds in a single tournament game) who was not only a talented basketball and volleyball player but also a cross-country runner and record-holder in the triple-jump in high school.
