Johnson has high level athleticism, and that sets the stage for the rest of his game. He needs to get stronger, and when he does, he should be one of the tougher matchups in the Big East.

It is true that Johnson does carry some bust potential with him, but the physical tools and developing skills make him someone who fits in with modern basketball, and he has a chance to be an NBA first round pick if it all comes together. Because he still is raw, the ranking remains in the mid four-star range, but the reality is the ceiling is that of a five-star.

Even better... Hawkins is at least somewhat of a late bloomer (he still carried a 2* rating on StockRisers.com a few months ago), Diggins will continue to fill out into his body and Johnson is ready to assume a focused, established starter's role at St. Patrick's.

In other words, Hawkins could rise to Top 25, 5* status, Diggins will continue to grow his all-around multi-faceted game, and Johnson could well join them in the Top 50 at least once he is given the consistent minutes of a lead horse at a nationally-respected high school like St. Patrick's.

And honestly, the most important part of all of it is that we once again have a coaching staff that is as good as any in the country at identifying and then locking down players whose styles and work ethics translate really well to the college game. Love that fact. I am looking forward to seeing KFree add to it.

Saw on thread posted by @HooperScooper that NCAA committee is pushing for November 25th start to the season. Please make it so there is enough protections out there for the most vulnerable in America to make it so... I haven't been this excited for a UConn season and future in 5 years!

Holy crap. Samson doesn't just look good... he looks DOMINANT. Both on Offense AND Defense. You can see that he is maturing into his body. Excellent control, quick hops, and strong, confident moves.

And those weren't folding chairs he was going up against.

November 25th... and the future beyond that... can not get here fast enough!

Agree, Chief thinks he will be a special player. He’s a Big who finds a way to the rim and Chief likes that. He also has a mindset to carve out position on the block, present a target for the ball and then has the post moves and length to get off a soft shot or dunk.
Chief is just getting back from seeing some ball this weekend. The future is bright. Trust me.

You do realize that once we see your name on the left- and you mention ur name in the third person in the first line- that we realize it is a post from “Chief”? You are a basketball fan not Tarzan.

So what did you think of Chief’s analysis?

He may very well end up a star, but that looks like a sleepy pick up game after a night of drinking.
Love him cleaning up on the O boards. He reminds of Freeman.

He reminds of what Facey looked like as a senior. In the last decade Facey was the one kid I wish had a redshirt to grow in to his body and learn what he could do on the court. Just an active player who had a nose for the ball and whose shot always seems to roll in rather than roll out around the rim.

Some players have a nose for the ball. It just ends up in their hands.

If he has that gift, I agree that he can be a special player for us.
