Welcome, Jalen!

Was he hurt this past season? From his bio it seems like his carries fell off a cliff. Love his size and the stats he put up in 2021 though.

Any info on his injury? He was very productive at a p5 before that happened

“ Mitchell's addition to the portal is not one that comes as much of a surprise. The 5-foot-10, 214-pound back struggled to stay healthy after suffering a leg injury in the second game of the year against UCF, and wound up buried on the depth chart as a result. He would end up seeing action in just five games, rushing only 10 times for 48 yards.”

Well to the pound. More depth at the RB position is always welcome. I see him getting some carries instantly especially in short yard situations.

This one went under the radar for sure. Good depth to an already talented running back room.

Welcome Jalen and Go Huskies.

Kinda like the Burns comp, but I feel like he is more of a powerful RB vs Burns was a fullback who could run...if that makes sense ;).

Assuming Rosa takes a step forward...Him, Mitchell & Houston (our most underrated played IMO) gives us some real options on the backfield who have done things at the FBS level. Plus anything else from Brian Brewton is gravy.

Don't forget about Fr. Camryn Edwards who has been switched to RB.
Ran for 2,349 yards on 283 carries (8.3 yards per carry) 44 TD's.
New Haven Register POY in CT.
Yep, Cam is in the mix. But he's almost 30 pounds lighter than Mitchell. Mitchell fills the need for a big back, someone we can trust on short yardage or goal line.

Are we sure that Cam Edwards is permanently switching to RB? My understanding was that he switched temporarily in order to provide depth as injuries mounted at the position
With the depth we have at RB, IMO, it makes sense to keep Cam there... If he's developing there well we might as well. He's got more size too compared to Brewton and Houston.. I'd rather we have at least 3 RBs on the depth chart that are close to if not a little over 200lbs... Right now for "bigger" backs we've got PWO Hunter Clark (5'11 1/2 233lbs), Mitchel (6'1 ish 220lbs ish), Rosa ( 5'11 198 lbs), Cam ( 5'10 1/2 192 lbs).. then we go small yet really speed with Houston ( 5'10 163lbs ) & Brewton ( 5'6 173 lbs ) coming off injury... The only other potential option for a bigger back might be true frosh Oumar Diamonde ( 6' 210lbs ), who seems to be pegged for LB for us... Right now, I hope Cam stays (and thrives) on offense...

I think this is a very nice addition to the RB room. I don't see him as a rambling/bruiser type, so not a true Burns replacement. I think he's sort of a hybrid - speed and a bit of power (he actually goes down a bit easier than I would have thought). Should compliment the rest of the RB's.
