2022 UConn Football Commit - Will Knight (Smyrna, Delaware)

Will Knight is a 5-11 225lb RB (or 5-8 213lb depending on which highlights) from Smyrna Delaware>ODU>University of Delaware>Garden City Community College (JUCO), Garden City Kansas. All-Time Rushing Leader in the State of Delaware coming out of Smyrna High School. Former Delaware Gatorade POY.

After scanning the ODU, UD, and Garden City CC schedules and rosters, Will Knight appears to have at least 2 and potentially 3 years of remaining eligibility given SARS 6 years exception to normal 5.

2018 ODU - Will Knight participated in 2 games (< 4 games = NO negative eligibility impact)
2019 UD - WK played all games = used 1 year of eligibility
2020 UD played -0- games; re-scheduled several to Spring 2021. No evidence WK played at UD nor Garden CC.
Spring 2021 UD - WK does not appear to have played with UD nor Garden City CC
2021 Garden City CC - WK played in several games = used 2nd year of eligibility

No. Better than Mensah, but i was trying to avoid names. I think he and Carter compliment each other better than Carter and Mensah.

Sounds like and new RB Coach Barthel go back a while and are very familiar with each other. Probably was a priority recruit and they landed him. Hopefully their faith in his ability is well placed. I have good vibes with this one, but my vibe detector hasn’t worked well lately. We will see.

Much needed depth added to the running back group. Looks like a low center of gravity and should help in short yardage.

The guy averaged over 7 yards a carry as a starting TB at Delaware. That doesn’t sound like a short yardage back to me. That sounds like someone who was brought in to compete with and share time with Carter.

5'8" 213-225 lbs- kid's a fire hydrant on wheels. "Modern" high flying O is great- but I still love a little smash mouth running game a la Dixon/Sherman. Gonna be fun watching DBs bouncing off this load.
