I love it: from the Akron Beacon Journal article

--Konopka had offers from Miami (Ohio) and East Carolina and interest from Iowa and Old Dominion. In the end, it was the superstar staff the Huskies has that won out for the 6-foot, 215-pound senior.

--“They have a head coach who has coached in the NFL for many, many years,” Konopka said. “He coached in Atlanta from 2003-06 when Michael Vick was in the league. He has a rich history in the NFL. [Defensive coordinator Lou Spanos] has coached in two Super Bowls. They have a very stacked coaching staff. … The fact Coach Shearer feels like I can play there at a Division I school is awesome.”
