Transfer portal mechanics and rules allow you to take kids up until when you open summer camp in August. We are all focused on the fact we need at least two new starters on the OLine. And maybe 4 or 5 total; we may need to work all angles until August. Plus other positional needs.

There is the story of a Utah Center who saw he dropped on the team depth chart last summer and transferred on 7/27. Started 12 games for his bowl bound new school. We probably don't get many star FCS OLine or FBS quality starters in the Porta[; maybe the same path as the QBs: good solid measurables and highly ranked HS kids that just never rose to Starter at a solid P5. Take a kid who is at a second /third depth at Michigan or Maryland ... and he gets a fresh second chance.

UConn Spring Semester 2022 begins 1/18/22 (albeit on line)…

->The NCAA is currently in a dead period when it comes to recruiting, meaning players can’t visit programs, have in-home visits with coaches, etc.

But there’s a caveat to that rule.

Players in the transfer portal that are going to enroll at a program for the spring semester are allowed to take an official visit to a school IF that school starts their spring classes within a week of that visit. <-
