Thanks for putting these up. If I'm reading your estimates correctly, male viewers were higher in most categories. So much for the theory "men don't watch women's sports":confused:

It will be interesting to see how Fox's numbers shake out in 2023. They have Iowa vs Michigan in January from what I recall.

Out of curiosity does anybody have an idea of how many programs have all their games on at least local TV. It used to be pretty rare, but I imagine at least many of the top programs do that now.
Yeah, very rare now. I will listen to the Golden Gophers games through other streaming services. Once in a while if I am in Northern Minnesota, I can tune in on one of the local radio stations.

Yes, male viewership tends to be higher, but part of that is related to lead-in and casual viewership. The ratio of male-female viewership on Sportscenter and other non-game programming on ESPN channels is much more extreme than actual competition, regardless of sport. The gap seems to be closing in younger groups, but it's not really clear whether that is because a healthy number of young women are watching or if young men are watching less sports programming.

Creighton vs DePaul: 427k.

Are those the biggest Big East numbers ever not including UConn and/or Notre Dame?
@CajunHusky

I promise: I don’t know how the “Ugh” got in my quote of your post. It was certainly unintentional. Looks like a mod didn’t like where she thought we were heading but I do apologize for my mistake!

I am very impressed by 427,000 eyeballs!

I would be shocked if you intentionally did something like that. You are a valued member of our community because of your courtesy here @visitingcock

Autocorrect and autofill are usually the perpetrators of various misspellings and odd phrases. You must have hit the “u” and autofill did the rest

I am assuming that the non-sports fans who post these just forgot about the NC State-Louisville game and not that it averaged below the 200,000 viewers that is their usual cutoff for the broadcast list.
