No idea, but saw this on twitter yesterday

We could probably use a red zone type Big WR like this (6'4 185lbs at the moment... definitely helps offset the vertically challenged line up of WRs we currently have)... AND great football player name too....

Well over the past several weeks the social media activity by the football staff and 2021 recruits has been at a slower pace. That said, I see the recruiting landscape as follows based on reading the tea leaves:

Edit update at 11:13am- decided to move McLean to the top of the list.

Best odds:
  1. Deon McLean (DB/RB) Lawrence High School>Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, New Jersey <--we are his best offer,
  2. Terrance Anthony (WR) - Oakleaf High School, Orange Park Florida
  3. Sterling Berkhalter (WR) - Princeton High School, Cincinnati OH <--Have we offered? social media interaction with UConn staff is rather fresh. I think he might be doing a PG year somewhere.
  4. Ikenna Ugbaja (DL/TE) - Belmont Hill School, Belmont MA <--Seems like we are in the hunt
  5. Christopher Boti (DL) - St. Vincent Pallotti High School, Laurel Maryland
  6. David Siegel (DL/OL) - New Canaan High School, New Canaan CT
Medium odds:
  1. Deshontez Gray (LB/DL/TE) - Pelion High School, Pelion South Carolina <--we are his best offer
  2. Malcolm Bell (DB) - Clarkson Football North, Ontario Canada
  3. Balansama Kamara (LB/DE) - Central High School, Philadelphia PA <--Temple lean
  4. Josh Battle (DB/LB/RB) - Mill Creek High School, Hoschton Georgia
Long odds:
  1. Omarion Hammond (DL) - A.C Flora High School, Forest Acres South Carolina
  2. Ore Adeyi (DB) - Mansfield Legacy High School, Mansfield Texax
  3. ‪Louce Julien (DL) - Orange High School, Orange New Jersey
  4. Aaron Session (OL) - Morton Ranch High School, Katy, Texas
  5. Matthew Hummel (OL/DL) - North Hills High School, Pittsburgh PA
Super long odds- but I don think we have been fully eliminated
  1. Jalen Garner (LB) - Norcross High School, Norcross Georgia
  2. Al Leon Ashford (DB/WR) - Cherry Creek High School, Greenwood Village Colorado <--got an AZ offer recently
  3. Isiah Cox (WR) - Alcoa High School, Alcoa Tennessee <--got a Kansas offer recently..we are an unknown in TN.

Berkhalter is a strange one... no public offer that I've seen (all his other offers are posted) and Eddie Allen is his only UConn staff follow. He's attending Georgia Knights Prep Academy in Georgia (Northeast of Atlanta).

About Deon McLean - he was recruited by Stony Brook, Villanova and Stonehill college until UConn came along. Now doing a PG year. McLean is also a track star specializing in the 400M.

Sounds like it's McLean... unless Berkhalter got an offer we don't know about and decided to commit...

Mclean might not have any offers, but he sure is fast. The kid scored majority of his TDs on kick returns and end arounds, and wow, he just breaks away from the field.

Classic Edsall dirty diamond. Wonder what kept him off the radar....talent around him looks pretty bad in some of those clips. He clearly has some speed when he has the ball and he's willing to step up and makes stops playing DB. Seems like a good bet for a safety that does some KR and PR duties as well.

Keeping the speculation rolling... could it be Bell? He has that Minnesota offer but could UConn’s pedigree in the North be a factor? No idea if this means anything, but noticed RE is following Bell on twitter but not following McClean yet. I’m happy either way BTW

I was thinking the "recent" offer might be Bell too, keeping the Canada pipeline going. Great call, Bouk and your "like" from Medic bodes well for your prediction. Great job! Like you, I'd be happy with Mick or Deon.

Great point. He's actually the most recent offer. Makes even more sense.

Ok. Let’s address the elephant in the room. We’ve all refreshed since the Bat Signal early in the week. Any ideas on who?
