Buried in this news, Josh Newton is heading back to Emory. I think the Herbst regime is in the midst of unwinding. Who is next?

Buried? Acknowledging Newton accomplished established UConn goals and he's returning to Atlanta with additional responsibilities, his departure was announced by UConn and appeared in state newspapers in June.

UConn Foundation President Joshua Newton to Step Down Midsummer - UConn Today

As with senior executives in private business, people often move on prior to or after university presidents depart. Similarly, the new sheriff in town often brings along or hires his/her own deputies. Newton's a loss based on performance, but maybe an anticipated senior shuffle's not the worse development in Storrs.
