There is no simply answer to this question because Hurley judges reruits differently from other coaches. If two players have equal physical skills and basketball smarts, Hurley may like one but not the other. It reduces the number of players he can actually recruit.
Although the original post...
Not much . Those moments diminish and the private workouts with NBA teams overshadow them as the draft process plays out. The teams have very good idea who the players are after a full season.
It is very foolish to write off Duke until you see who comes in from the portal. It's almost like a St John's situation where Pitino ran off the whole squad --albeit Scheyer is no Pitino.
They will have great players. It's unknow if they will combine to have a great team.
One of two things are likely wirth English. He can make PC relevant and a winner. Or he can perform at a low level and Providence lets him go.
The problem with the former is that if he exceeds expectations, it is unlikely PC can keep him. He will move to more money at higher profile job. If he...
I think the kid can play. He looked at ease whenever he came in. Played within the offense. Never hurried. Great shooter. Good size. He could become the ultimate glou guy for somebody.
Maybe you missed the massive dis of the BE by the selection committee this year. The big boys don't give rats arse what UConn or the BE thinks is legit.
I'm with those who do NOT think we resemble the old BE. The old BE was rough tumble. John Turner used to hit guys with a baseball bat. Guys were slaughtered going into the lane. There is no one like the old Pitt or Georgetown teams.
Hurley invited him to the parade in Hartford. That's good enough for me. Beside I like his video. Love the way he moves at 265 pounds. I also like the 7-4 wingspan.
He hasn't said "absolutely never." Until he Hurley says absolutely never, he is leaving the door open to go to Kentucky. It's not a done deal. Kentucky could buyout the BYU guy if Hurley says yes.
I don't think it's going to be harder to win 7 games as the top seeds will be playing teams (possibly) as low as 120. The extra game will be against very weak competition.
There is no Hurley success at UConn without prior Calhoun success at UConn. And Calhoun's legacy at UConn is diminished without Hurley's success at UConn. The success of one is the success of the other.
What about Hurley's feet?
I know this is very nuanced and intellectual but what if Hurleys feet get too big? Would he be able to fit on the sideline? Where would he he able to buy shoes? With the biggest feet in college basketball would he be able to focus on coaching?
As for his ego, what...
People think that our history as a winner started with Calhoun. No question he was the architect of the Huskies as an elite program. But he be built on a foundation of a strong regional program. Our blood wasn't blue back then but our brand was winning.
I watched that introduction of Cal on SEC Network. He didn't say that.
He did say the "There's only a few schools like that, and I hate to tell you ... Arkansas is one of them." Which got a huge cheer.
But he did NOT mention UConn. You are being trolled.
