I'd meant to watch "Reptile" on Netflix earlier, but never got around to it til now. Good slow burn with several good performances. I sniffed out that one of the key players didn't seem quite right early on, but didn't realize the full extent of it. When did Justin Timberlake finally stop...

OT: The Original Song: It's The Best

Not that I've heard many covers of this, but when I did I was just "nah, why even touch this song?" It's absolute perfection as is, no need to redo it, reimagine it, tinker with it, etc.

OT: The Original Song: It's The Best

This one was very popular for cover songs for a while. Took it in all different directions, hard rock/metal, punk, acapella. I never heard a cover I liked better than the original. All the more amazing because she was only 16 or so at the time. When I was that age...I certainly wasn't...

Nika and KK both attending Kelsey Plum camp

OT but it kinda fits here. KP and Darren Waller have filed for divorce after only a year of marriage. That's too bad.

The Athletic's projections for 2025 WNBA draft

I think you're thinking of James, not Rivers.

Wow, another I had had no clue was a cover.

New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

What are they selling at Arizona St.? They've been one of the most active programs in the country with portal acquisitions.

I've been known to ignore a good warning. I was curious so watched it anyway. Yeah, not very good. You have to suspend disbelief to some degree with rom coms normally, but in this one pretty much every character was acting in such an unbelievable manner at every turn, and most of the dialogue...

    What are you binge watching?

For me "The Gentlemen" really picked up at Ep. 5 and I blasted my way thru the rest of the season. Theo James and Kaya Scodelario were good as the two leads. Having actors like Vinnie Jones, Ray Winstone and Joely Richardson as more minor characters really brought it home. I guess you can't...

    ACC Off-Season

Have you been in any Snickers commercials? You know, the "you're not you when you're hungry" thing.

    WNBA 2024 season

Bell was getting semi decent minutes before various injuries. If she gets cut, those minutes will have to be absorbed by someone. But if they keep her, it's hard to see any rookie playing at all for the Aces.

    What are you binge watching?

Slowly working my way through "The Gentlemen." Each episode finding themselves in some over the top predicament is starting to wear a bit thin. Freddie is a terrible character and needs to get offed. Jimmy has suddenly turned full idiot too. Can't believe that after his first big screw up...

Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

Another "maybe the third time is a charm" player. Seems to be the rule more than the exception these days.

Part 2 of Rebel Moon is out on Netflix. Well if you like slow mo, this is the movie for you! A tiny bit more character development for the assembled team but just barely. It has some moments, but it's both overblown and under cooked. Part 1 had me curious but Part 2 didn't really deliver for...

    Caitlin Changed the Game

I'd like to see some real numbers. How many players that don't project to be stars in the WNBA are really making more than $64 K in NIL money?

Maybe in sticking w/ the current Hollywood trend of shared universes, they are creating the butt kicking tradesmen universe. You've got The Bricklayer, the Beekeeper, what's next?

Perfect example of a song I had absolutely no idea that the well known version wasn't the original artist.

I first saw her around 10 years ago in "Wildlike" and thought she was great. I've followed her career, but she's gotten a disappointingly small number of decent roles in the intervening years.

Watched "Top Secret!" on Netflix last night. Those 80s spoofs hold up well. At least if it's Zucker and Abrams.

I think you are underselling her a bit. She had a bunch of 20 point games in the Tourney when she was with Louisville. Some of those were against good teams.

Players Entering Transfer Portal, As of March 2024

Well it's not as big of an exodus, but Alabama is starting to give me a bit of Oregon St. vibes. Had a good season, return a nice nucleus...then several of them starting jumping ship. And they weren't getting busted down to a mid major conference. I don't think I'll ever understand the...

New school commitments by Transfers - March 2024

Iowa went to the WNIT back to back in '16 and '17. Other than that, they've made the Tourney every year since 2008. Coach Bluder knows what she's doing. She's lost star players before and keeps rolling along.

OT: You Like the Cover More Than the Original Song

I think this counts. Remake made for a movie, by a "fake band" that was comprised of real deal rockers, including the original vocalist. It's not all that different, but it goes harder. I don't know who the guitarist in the original song is, but Zakk Wylde punches this song up a fair bit.

Had to look up the original (Lacy Dalton, 1982). Don't remember hearing it, but I like this cover by a not very well known country singer.

OT: You Like the Cover More Than the Original Song

Okay, well I'm not quite sure if I like it more than the original, but this is my newest musical obsession, and most of their songs probably aren't gonna fit into song thread categories, so what the heck.

    WNBA 2024 season

All of Vegas's picks were second rounders. Anything after the first round is a long shot to make a team, I'd say they got very good value for where they were picking. Remains to be seen if any of them make the roster, but again, it's not like they were expecting to build up their depth without...
