Their coach said they played "under" everything and dropped a bit taking away our off backcuts and off ball actions going toward the basket. It worked when our perimeter and post-up shots went cold in first half. Our guards made some perimeter shots in 2nd half and also took the ball to the...
Yep. Illinois will be tough. Iowa St doesn't have the offense to score enough against us. Looks like Illinois though. Will be our first real test of tourney.
Saw that also. Was either in press conference or PTI or CBS Morning. Was on one of the interviews I saw him do this week. Whether I believe that some of our assistants haven't reached out is another story.
The whole blue blood argument is tired. If 5 titles in 25 years and 35 years of excellence(outside of a few AAC years) doesn't do it then I don't want to be part of the made up good ole boy goober club.
Ledee averaged 7 points a game last year and came off the bench. This year he averages almost 22 pts a game and is an all-american candidate. He's a much better player this year and is now the focal point. I think Clingan will be fine as long as he stays out of foul trouble. That is my major...
To add to this the announcers mentioned they are using a different ball for the tourney and UConn started using it part of the time a few weeks ago to prepare. The announcers said some of the players on UConn complained the tourney ball was tacky. Why all teams don't use the same ball all year...
I think he probably thought Ledee played PF for them and Karaban was going to be the matchup. Perhaps he just saw a few series of Ledee stepping out and hitting 3's and also driving from 3 point line(which he did) and was concerned Clingan would have trouble guarding on the perimeter or get in...
The guy is just asking about matching up with the opponents best player and what strategy we use. You don't think Hurley will have a plan on how we defend him? Doesn't deserve the "insane" and "dumb" responses.
Self confidence is great as long as it doesn't become overconfidence. Bulletproof is not the word I would use though. It implies that we can't lose which is not true. If we were bulletproof we wouldn't have lost to Creighton. The best team going in often doesn't win the tourney. If anyone...
We would destroy FAU. NW runs some good stuff both offensively and defensively. More difficult to prepare for on short notice. Most importantly, they can shoot and run good stuff to get guys open. We should win but they could be a tough out. They did beat Purdue and Illinois so their best game...
We obviously should beat both of these teams. Think NW would be a tougher game. They play a harder brand of defense to prepare for and play against and they also shoot the ball better from deep.
Exactly my thought. Alford was brutal. Tried to milk a win with 7 minutes left. I think he tried to run clock and was left with prayers at the end of the shot clock. He doesn't have the personnel to do that successfully.
I enjoyed Steve Alford's impression of a mannequin on the sideline. Players were lackadasical as well. Ran zero offensive actions. How many times do you have to get the ball poked from behind and stolen by the last guy up the floor before you put your head on a swivel and have some awareness...
The worst part is the committe stooge acts like putting out a relatively equitable and balanced bracket is akin to cracking the enigma code only Alan Turing is nowhere in sight. It's not the some borderline impossible task they make it out to be. Get rid of all the rules and bracket principles...
It may not be the committees fault but it's their job to be able to adjust on the fly and make the most equitable and competive tournament possible. They have all these bigwigs watching ganes and having countless meetings for them to just throw their hands up in the air and say we didn't expect...
If they don't have a criteria, they don't have to defend or explain anything and they can do what they want for whatever reason. They have been doing it for years. This guy just finally admitted it. The explanation, if you can call it that, for having Iowa St as #2 with us was incoherent and...
I get that. They blitzed Tenn too. Sheppard had 9 3's. Impressive no doubt but If either Kentucky or Auburn play great they would both be a challenge. I guess what I was saying is Kentucky has more of a glaring weakness than Auburn. They would have to win a track meet. Auburn can really disrupt...
Ralph Sampson boosted Virginia. I remember the Mark Aguire and Terry Cummings DePaul years. Did Glen Robinson and Wayman Tisdale boost Purdue and Oklahoma? They must not have done seeds during the Wooden years with Alcinder and Walton. This must start after that.
I really find this Auburn team to be obnoxious and extremely unlikable. That Mazzaro kid is a always in the middle of controversy. I think they are a good team but pretty hard to like. Maybe it's the fact I took Florida to win the tourney before it started and have a chance to win a decent chunk...
Can't tell if you are joking. If you are not, I will just say that The Boneyard is the last place AD's will look to for ideas about coaching candidates. Pizza maybe..
