I remember that but Geno says a lot of things that may or may not be true. I still remember 2 years in a row when he talked about how good Amari looked.
We will never know but scorer or not, she would not have gotten the touches that allowed her to score as much because she would have been the 3rd, 4th, or 5th option if Uconn was fully healthy.
Lou got lucky with all the injuries at Uconn that year. If she had gotten just 10-15 min off the bench the year she played at Uconn, I doubt she would have been drafted that high or at all.
I have to believe that Nika could have never imagined she would be in this position when she showed up in Storrs 4 years ago. Her hard work definitely pays off! Big congrats.
I agree with him. Close to 99% of the players in the portal have zero chance of playing at the next level even if they somehow manage to get a little more playing time (if that's the main reason they are in the portal).
I am confused by the sheer number of people in the portal, not that it is new this year. More than 95% (maybe even 99%) of these players have zero chance of a post-college basketball playing career. What is the reason for moving around to different schools unless you have a serious problem at...
Sounds like someone is running out of things to post about now that the endless discussion on the recruiting speculation is over after Strong's commitment :). I am curious, do you ever post about anything other than recruiting speculation and speculation about recruits?
Unless something has changed, I believe the only requirement to get on the wall is to be named to the WBCA All-American team. I don't think the Wooden team counts.
I am not sure I agree because it can affect the momentum of the game. If your team gets the short 3-pt line first and happens to make more 3-pt and build a big lead, you could play the game differently when you are on the other side. It definitely can affect the outcome of the game.
I never said or implied that Nika was afraid to take the shot. I just think in her mind Paige would have been even more open if she passed the ball back and Nika is all about getting the best shot possible for the team. Watch the play, that's what I see.
about that play... after watching it several times I was thinking that if it had been Nika instead of KK receiving that pass, she would have faked and passed it back to Paige for the wide-open 3. Luckily it all works out in the end.
I would take that bet. As much as Clark has the ball in her hand and as many shots as she tends to take, it is almost a given that she will score more than 20 points whether she is effective or not.
People who think that Geno (or any other coach) would suddenly do something they have not done all year, i.e. put a player they have not used much at all in these close intense games in the tournament, are just nutty fans.
No matter how this season turns out, the one thing I will say is you have to be proud of this team vs most other top 10 teams because it is the only one (except South Carolina) that did not lose to a random unranked team, I believe, and even South Carolina should have suffer that fate at the...
I think they spent so much energy on defense the last couple of days that tiredness impact some of those miss "bunnies". Even Nika talked about being tired in the postgame presser.
