    Patriots, Alabama football, Lakers... UConn

On Unsportsmanlike with Evan, Canty and Michelle. Basically agreeing that over the past 25 years, as many or more championships as any of the teams considered as 21st century sports dynasties. @9:49 https://www.espn.com/radio/play/_/id/39905195

    Belated RIP Karl Wallinger

Just learned this morning that one of my favorite musical artists passed back on 3/10. This one hurts. First heard him back with the Waterboys in '83. After he split with them, saw World Party's first tour at Toad's in '86. Owned everything he put out and still play his music often. Have been...

Can't post from clipboard or upload images

Started yesterday. I do the Wordle thread daily and typically just copy my solve as a .png file to clipboard, then paste it into the thread. Couldn't do that yesterday or today. I then tried converting the .png to a .jpg and got a server error message. What's going on with this?

    OT: Super Bowl potpourri

Just throwing up a thread for anyone who wishes to comment on the game, ads, entertainment, announcers, or whatever the hell is annoying you. For me, I've just lost all respect for Messi. Drink a real beer, dude.

How about an email or text in advance of next payment due?

It's kind of annoying to suddenly get a ton of messages while browsing BY about "please support us" when you've gone a year with no ads. Happy to contribute each year, but a warning a week or more out would be nice.

    Question on recruiting top prospects

Does the recruit have any say in the agenda for the visit? I've always been a "let's get straight to the point" kinda guy. If I were visiting a campus, I'd have a set of priorities that would include looking at the training facilities, where would I live, where/what would I eat, conversations...

If you think the BY is being negative about our offense...

hell, we're mere amateurs with our gripes compared to the guys on the paid board at Panther-Lair. Here's just a couple of examples: and then there's this, which is a level of disgust I hope we never see here: They hate OC Cignetti too for bringing Jurkovec to Pitt, but man, I don't think...

    About that early "first down"

On NC State's first drive... how was this called a first down, and once it was, why was it not challenged? Was Mora afraid to use his challenge so early? Was there some view that indicated the runner made the first down (hard to believe). Easily a half yard or more short. Granted, NC State...

    RIP Alan Arkin

A legendary talent. So many great roles from "The Russians Are Coming" thru "The Kominsky Method", including my favorite, "The In-Laws". Of course a great dramatic actor as well, evidenced by "Glengarry Glen Ross". And even in small parts, he could steal the show, like in "So I Married An Axe...

Championship on line, Otahni to face Trout

In case you wanted to tune in. Bottom 9th, Japan up 3-2. Ohtani walked first batter, Trout up third. Betts up now. update: Betts grounded into DP. Trout up for the tie. update 2: Trout Ks. Japan is world champion. Don't know if we'll ever see that matchup again, but kudos to the WBC for...

    Play-In Games Thread

Figured a thread was needed. I do not like Pitt tonight. Miss St. is a horrible offensive team, but they rebound and defend the perimeter well. Federiko has a knee boo-boo and is a game time decision. Pitt's other bigs, the Diaz twins, are sticks that can shoot well, but provide little...

    Snake in the attic

    Week 18 Other Games

Baylor was up on Okla St. 67-50 late in 2nd half. Okla St drained several threes for a 15-2 run to get to 69-65 with half a minute left. Baylor held, making its FTs to win by six 74-68.

    RIP Tom Verlaine

Seminal guitarist and founder (with Richard Hell) of the influential band Television, one of the more musically adept bands to come out of CBGBs in the 70s. Only really had a cult following in US, but had a bigger impact in the UK and Europe where they had a few hits. Long time partner of Patti...

Something I want to see DH do

February 4 @ G'Town - a team UConn should beat with one good half. Give AJax a goal of 20 points, at least half must be in the paint. Run plays specifically for him. Make sure he knows it's for purposes of screwing up every BE coach's plans on how to play him, thus good for the team. AJax is a...

I would like to thank Dan Hurley

Despite the current woes, I want to thank DH for rekindling my love of college hoops. Why rub it in. With...

    Week 12 - Other Games

Izzo is employing a strategy to let Edey eat and stop Purdue's perimeter shooters. It's been working for the most part when Purdue is in their half court offense but not so much in transition. MSU had a 4 pt lead for a bit after halftime, but Purdue on top by 4 currently (11 mins left), in a...

Where have you gone, Joe Pisarcik?

End of the Vikings-Bills game is amazing. Bills up 27-23 with a minute left. Vikings have 4th and a couple of inches for a TD. Bills stuff the QB sneak, take over on downs. Bills try their own QB sneak to buy a couple of feet to work with and fumble in the end zone on bad snap. Vikings recover...

Pirates achieve one of the rarest of all MLB feats

It's only been done five times previously in MLB history - Pirates win 1-0 despite being no-hit. Reds' manager was going to let Greene complete the game until he walked two in bottom of 8th and hit 118 pitches with only one out. Reliever walked his first batter to load the bases, then a high...
