    Kadary Richmond to transfer portal

Bit of a difference though, Cam was a grad transfer and wasn't chasing better NIL, was looking for a team (key word) he could win with.

    Aidan Mahaney

Comparing our portal adds the last two seasons is apples and oranges to our situation this coming year. For 22/23, Floyd and Diggins bailed, Gaffney wasn't really cut out for the new offensive Hurley was moving toward and probably nudged out, and Cole decided not to use his last year, so we...

I really hate how so many chase the shiny new objects in the transfer portal rather than have some faith in the talented players that have been on the team for a year and understand the system. We talk about culture and player development, but too many here seem to want to rely on transfers to...

2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley, the Second of His Name, 2.0

Of course he would be a great loss, and it's no slight on Alex at all, he is the better player. But Liam could slip into his role, but losing Hass leaves us with no guards experienced in our system. Sure we could pick up a transfer and/or hope Nowell takes to oir offense and the lead role...

2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley, the Second of His Name, 2.0

If we got Liam, I'd almost rather have Hass back than Karaban if it was one or the other.

Sure there is. To transfer to Duke the following year.

Incoming freshman guard Ahmad Nowell ready to start UConn career

He can go for the 6th man of the year like Hass this year, and take the starting spot next year.

The weather in New England is no worse than in MI or IN, so I don't think weather will play much of a part in his decision.

UNC + Michigan after Yale transfer Wolf ?

Kinda funny we get UofM's center and Wolf ends up going there.

    2024 Recruiting: Nolan Traore

True, but 2 consecutive chips later, 2 draftees last year, and potentially 5 this year (2 of which top 10), some kids and parents might start looking at things differently.

Dook lost Sean Steward...Mass exodus near complete...

Hence, why vetting the parents is so important for Hurley.

Dook lost Sean Steward...Mass exodus near complete...

We should probably wait to dance over Duke's grave until we know our freshmen are coming back. I am fairly confident about Stewart, but who knows for sure about the other 3.

    DJ Wagner Enters The Portal

Call me a cynic, but I have little interest in taking anyone transferring from Kentucky. That program is (or at least was under Cal) the antithesis of what we want our program to be. I am very skeptical that any kid who chose Cal would fit into the UConn culture.

    Courant article about 24/25 roster

As good as Nowell is supposed to and probably will be, people are assuming a lot to be plugging him into the starting PG spot. At the PG position, give me experience with good skill over no experience and great skill every time, especially with our complicated offense. Even a high level...

    Courant article about 24/25 roster

So the whole small (Diarra) vs big (TBD) guard thing. Would you rather risk him leaving for a starting spot somewhere (that he'd absolutely get, and at a good program) by recruiting a big transfer guard over him (whom isn't guaranteed to work in our system/offense like Hass is?) I know my answer.

Sanogo Gets His First NBA Double Double

It will also depend on how the fans take to him. If he becomes a fan favorite (and how could he not with this performance and his joyous interviews), that will go a long way in him getting playing time. Let's face it, NBA is as much about entertainment as it is about sport, player popularity...

    2024 Recruiting: Liam McNeeley

So basically, they want to emulate what Cal did at UK? Spend $$$$ on a team full of 5-stars and maybe get to the Final 4 if not getting bounced early? Whatever, have at it.

Kentucky to Hire Mark Pope LOL

Its hysterical how some (although not all) are also trying to rationalize that they don't want Hurley anymore because he is obviously an idiot for turning down UK and the bag. Some quotes from RR board: "Frankly, if we walk away without Hurley after a $100 million offer that he REJECTED...I'd...

Some interesting insight into the state of the program and some flat out stupidity

The people who insist players should go are as bad as those who insist they should stay. It's none of our business to say what they should or shouldn't do or what their motivations should be. Everyone thinks that money should be the only motivation, and while it sure as hell is important, its...

    Kimani and Luke Returning

Although I would hate it initially, I hope they both move on to HC jobs at some point so they can cut their teeth into being a head coach. Then, once Hurley retires, and assuming they do well, we bring one of them back as HC.

    How nervous were you

That was the only time I was even slightly concerned in the game, but didn't last long. Even in the first half when they were keeping it close, I wasn't worried. Especially once I saw Edey shooting free throws for the first time and he was sweating and breathing hard. Knew we had them at that...

Chief’s NC Briefs - Purdue Edition

Yeah, I don't think it was a surprise at all. I also don't think it was their plan to "let" Edey get 37 points, the plan was to let Clingan play him 1v1 and make it as hard for Edey to get his points and not need to lose coverage on the other players. The only reason Edey got his points is...

Chief’s NC Briefs - Purdue Edition

But did we? Purdue I don't think ever lead by more than 2 points for a possession or two. I don't consider being in a 1-2 possession game for the first 15 minutes a punch in the mouth. It may have have felt tenuous for a while, but mostly because it was Purdue since this game went almost...
