Clingan is much more mobile and will be able to develop a useful outside game. He'll be a lottery pick (and, at this rate, a high one) for a good reason.
I think we'll just agree to disagree. I can't possibly fathom how any of this offers a scintilla of new information to anyone who knows what they're talking about. It's not a state secret.
There is no chance that any of this is new information to high level college coaches and their legions of data analysts. The challenge is replicating it with the type of personnel that we have as well as stopping it.
One of my favorite things was right at the end where Donovan matter of factly said, "[...] give our best in March and April." I can't say enough about how locked in this team is and how much they just internalize winning.
I know it's the Boneyard, but there are some stone cold moronic takes in this thread. Some of you could win $1 trillion in Powerball and complain about the font on the ticket.
Not sure I’ve seen a coach just throw his hands up like Holloway today. Pretty hilarious. Thought he was gonna just order some nachos with about five minutes left.
I was a bit skeptical about the value of an Ivy League degree for an athlete versus a non-athlete, since intuitively it might be slightly devalued by employers. My intuition was completely wrong:
I have been fooled by many a highlight montage in my day, but: 1) This is just one game; 2) There is an announcer and not cringe music; 3) The movement and skill at 7 feet is about as modern as you get.
Sold.
Me trying to figure out which streaming services I need to subscribe to in order to watch all the sports I care about, in the year of our lord 2024. This is going to cost a lot and won't help things for me.
Yeah I feel like I’m getting drunk just by reading his posts. They make no sense.
The only good thing about this thread has been noting the dude checking in at the end who looked like Frasier. I expected Niles to check in at the next dead ball.
I think that's largely true, but the window is shorter and you're generally looking for instant impact. You're generally okay investing in a Singare out of HS where you wouldn't in the portal because many of these guys are 28 years old and instant impact players.
I'm fine with the portal, but it places a ton of responsibility on good scouting. It's often really hard to project whether someone who is productive at one level is going to be comparably productive at a much higher one (i.e., which is a common model in the portal). It requires some really good...
He made about $7 million after taxes (not including endorsements). I am very skeptical that he had the right people advising him, but hopefully I'm wrong.
This one felt weird. Not only cutting us this late for no real reason (just choose a different school), but also all the instagram posts about us while he was in Durham.
Just weird vibes all around.
Thread commentary aside, I think Flagg and his family deserve a ton of credit for how they’ve handled this. There’s no public drama from them, just an attempt to do due diligence and make the right call for an eight month period in his life. I don’t see any toying with fan bases, leading people...
