    Updated 2024 Spring Roster

I wasn't expecting to see Collin McCarthy and Desmond Fogle on the roster as I believe they were each honored on Senior Day. It is good to keep veterans who should see playing time next season.

    UConn Football Webinar this evening

I was not. But I would love to get some more detail on what they had to say.

Pass Game Coordinator/Executive Director of Recruiting John Marinelli will not return for 2024 season (Rivals)

Unfortunately Marinelli did not have the impact on state recruiting that would have been hoped for. Was surprised we did not get a serious look from Drew Pyne. Mora is not messing around.

    2024 Recruiting Thread

Our former WR Jason Williams aka CoachJay, now a recruiting expert, said he thought Okivet Lundberg Coleman had NFL potential.

Tyson Brown - New Director of Football Strength & Conditioning.

These are great points! Team did well by MSU standards while he was there and he lasted 4 plus years. He was also considered to be a secret weapon while at WSU. Seems like a very strong hire.

2024 UConn Football Commit - Dakote Doyle-Robinson (St Louis, Missouri) Decommitted 1/15/24

Good addition. He looks very quick for his size and plays with an attitude.

2024 UConn Football Commit - Jordan Wright (Collierville, Tennessee)

He looks fast and elusive in his JUCO highlights.

Finally.. the '23 Roster update is here...

I don’t see WR Ethon Williams name on the roster.

2023 UConn Football Commit - Frank Daniley (New Haven, CT)

His tape is ridiculously good. Breakaway speed and efficient with his cuts.

Justin Joly - our new weapon

I noticed that he made a good block of the outside linebacker on the Devontae Houston touchdown.

    2022 UConn men's soccer season

There was an announcement of the 2022 class posted at UConnhuskies.com with a list of names but with no bios. Not very helpful or engaging.

This video is awesome. Will be a very effective recruiting tool.

    UConn Spring Football 2021 begins...

No insider information, but in the press conference Edsall made the point of saying that some of the young WRs were pushing for playing time. So thinking he might be referring to some or all of Marion, Clercius and Kevin Dunn (SHU transfer who switched over from playing QB) all of whom were...

2021 UConn Football Commit - John Bechtle (Warren, New Jersey)

Looks like a tough kid with good hands in those highlights. I could definitely see him playing some H Back/fullback.

    2021 Recruiting Thread

Edsall said during his interview on the Rob Dibble show that there are 15 commitments for 2021. So maybe Christopher Johnson is still in the fold?

2021 UConn Football Commit - Langston Hardy (Jacksonville Florida)

Looks like HCRE was a DB coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars when Langston's father (All Pro LB Kevin Hardy) was just starting out.

    Spring Practice 2019

I saw that Terrence Ganyi also moved to LB. Fingers crossed that one of these guys can be the speedy linebacker that was missing last year. And amazing that Jay Rose is the only TE listed on the roster. I wonder if Giuffre/Edsall would use one of the offensive lineman as a 3rd down blocking...

Rate the 2018 UConn Early Signing Class

I see some positive signs. It seemed like Edsall and Co., even moreso than last year, tried to hide some hidden gems like Zergiotis, Rayonte Brown and Eric Watts by offering them late and/or telling them to not publicly announce their commitment. Watts' game tape looks really good - he is...

    OT: Yoga

I will second the value of hot yoga. It was introduced to me by a relative who was a college football kicker. For those who love the sweat and stress release of playing 2 hours of pick up basketball, but want a low impact (to the joints) alternative, look no further. It does wonders for your...

2018 UConn Commit #24 - Dante Black (Snellville Georgia)

Those are some nice looking highlights!

    Welcome John Dunn: New OC

Tucked into the bottom of the article it says that no other members of the coaching staff (save for some graduate assistants) are expected to leave. So importantly this means that Grimes is staying.

    Game Ball to the Defense

Really liked what I saw from Jordan Swann at DB. Showed some badly needed swagger and toughness.

Former Players Praising Shireffs on Twitter

You can certainly praise Shirreffs without it being a dig at Pindell. I am very impressed that Shirreffs is, for the benefit of the team, willing to serve as the extremely able backup. There are a lot of players whose ego could not handle it. Character counts and I would give Bryant's resume...

New 2017 Commit - Zavier Scott (Killeen, Texas/Vilseck, Germany)

And how many of those faster guys are 6'2" and 200 pounds? Isn't part of the point being fast for your size?:)

    2017 Scholarship Chart

Maybe I had missed it previously, but today's CT Post says that Nazir Williams was dismissed from the team. I remember that he had gotten in trouble in the Fall. Also the CT Post confirmed that William Richardson, Tabur, Sowa and Allmedinger are no longer on the team. Reading between the...

    2017 UConn Spring Practice Updates

i thought it was interesting that HCRE confirmed that Chris Lee has switched to tackle and might have a chance to start.

New WR Coach - Aaron Smith

I like this choice a lot. Like Wholley, Aaron is a returning alumnus who has recruited the northeast. Albany had a 7-4 team that beat Buffalo, URI, UNH and Stony Brook and Smith was the recruiting coordinator.

    Recruiting Impact

One thing that is heartening about Crockett defensive scheme is that Nova's 8 in total starting linebackers and defensive backs were from NJ and FL with one additional one each from PA and CT. These are the types of kids we have had success recruiting in the past. The 5 backs were all 5'10 - 6'1.

    Talk me down...

I don't ageee that there are massive holes in the secondary. I thought Robinson generally looked fine when he played and you have former Vandy starter Bell and Summers joining him at corner. McCallister played better as the year went on so in my mind there is one obvious hole at the other...

The Official "I Hate our Recruiting" Thread

I see that you skipped over the BGSU and Toledo offers. Toledo finished 9-3 and beat Maine 45-3 (who we squeaked by 24-21). We are not in a position to act all high and mighty with our recruiting. Besides, if you look at the video you can see he is a very big kid moving downfield and pushing...

Something To Be Thankful For — Diaco Keeps Things Simple

Diaco needs to take a step back, take a deep breath and look at how contrary some of his decisions were. Does he miss having Don Patterson as part of the brain trust? If what you want is a grind it out running offense then why not use a fullback? I realized he used the walk on Allmedinger...

Would be nice to hear from someone that knew or ...

I agree to a certain extent. However, it is certainly the role of the AD to consider the methods admitting prospective football players and to ask the admissions department for cooperation if needed. Not special treatment, but something more like prompt feedback as to whether a player is...

What impact will Maine game have on realignment?

Maine is good and last year's 3-8 team played Boston College tough (I believe it was 7-3 at half time) in BC's 2015 home opener.

2016 PWO Roster Additions - Kyle Williams (CB) &Rick Bartone (RB)

Bartone has good size according to Hudl. 6 foot, 190 pounds and gained more than 1,600 yards rushing at Derby. 4.65 speed. I would love to hear from someone who has seen him play, but he sounds like someone who can help down the line. Williams is moving from WR to CB at UConn.

2016 Commit #14 Tyler Coyle - Windsor CT

HH, If you said Addazio had no more room in the class that would be one thing, but BC took several 2 stars down at the wire. Face it, Coyle wanted to play at home for Diaco. The last time UConn got a nationally ranked track athlete for the secondary he turned into Tyvon Branch. Big...
