(Updated) What was the most upsetting injury in the last 10 years?

I thought he was healthy until he started having hip issues. He didn't have the surgery until later, right? At some point in his sophomore year?

(Updated) What was the most upsetting injury in the last 10 years?

After Omar Calhoun's freshman year, I thought he was going to be UConn's next great player. He lost so much mobility with that hip injury. He had the sweetest stroke on the pull-up. Very hard to guard.

    VCU UConn thoughts

We give our opponents credit all the time. It's a yearly theme early. Remember St. Joseph's 2 years ago. We said the same thing about them, strong program, they played hard, etc. They went on to win 5 more games. Not saying VCU is going to be dreadful like that. But any team that struggles this...

    VCU UConn thoughts

Dayton is not Wagner nor was Kansas limited to 40 points. They also lost to Chattanooga. Better than losing to Wagner but... In VCU I saw a team that absolutely could not shoot. There were ways to exploit them. This doesn't mean UConn is doomed. I don't believe that at all. I was only...

    VCU UConn thoughts

I think betting in this forum is ridiculous but I'll take any bet that VCU will not be good. I mean, if you can't put the ball into the basket, you may just lose to Wagner by double digits. 40 points against Wagner!!!! Let that sink in.

    VCU UConn thoughts

My big gripe is that we don’t pass to the open man when the passing lanes are open. We play a lot of hero ball. And practically every one is guilty of this except Whaley. He is the only one who knows the importance of moving the ball. Gaffney, Sanogo, Martin, and even Cole pass on giving it to...

    VCU UConn thoughts

VCU may not have a winning record at the end of the year. They already lost by double digits to Wagner and also lost to Chattanooga. It’s a team that will finish with 40+ points in multiple games this year. In other words, they are not very good. There were a ton of different ways to exploit them.

    Rules Question

What do you mean? They showed Hurley on TV, he pointed his index finger right at the official as he was talking to the head guy, and he held up 4 fingers. Clearly, he was telling the head that the guy just told him that Whaley had 4. This was pretty clear on the broadcast.

Did he foul that kid at the end of the 1st OT? I don't think so. Seemed he went straight up for the block.

Fess Up. What Did You Do For Mojo Today?

Raked leaves before the game, raked leaves at halftime, raked leaves after the game. Sadly, I have no more leaves to rake for future games, though perhaps I can rip open all my bags of leaves and spread them all over my lawn.

    Thoughts on UConn Auburn

On that late drive where he came down the lane late and dumped it off to Sanogo I would have liked to see Andre slow it down a bit and launch to the rim himself--he has plenty of athleticism to get there, but he goes so fast that he feels like he's out of control. It was a good decision to get...

Tim Boyle likely to start for Lions on Sunday.

Curtis Painter and Nathan Peterman are good proof that NFL QB talent evaluators can get it wrong. That being said, the Boyle story is still bizarre.

It's the coaches; fault wherever he went. You don't play in the NFL by accident. He always had the ability but had absolutely no support from coaches.

But they have not gotten rid of the student sports fee! Regular students still subsidize it. I mean, get rid of that fee and cut the coaches pay already. Cheese and crackers.

    Highlights v. Binghamton

Also odd thing to say when Calhoun joined the BE at a time when much of the Big East had had success with Conn. talent -- for instance, BC with Jay Murphy, John Bagley, Michael Adams to Villanova with Harold Jensen, John Pinone and Harold Pressley, to Pitt with Charles Smith, I may be missing on...

    MNT's 2021

I'm worried about Antonee. He is not a good passer and gives the ball away too often, but I like his physical presence and his speed getting to balls. I want Zimmerman to replace Brooks. Brooks makes way too many mistakes. I want Weah and Musah on the field always. Not sure who will suffer...

    Bouknight Sent Down!

I don't know if he's going to learn defense down there. There has to be some utility to NBA practices, no? It's not all Allen Iverson, is it? But maybe it is. During NBA games in the 1980s when I was in the stands, I marveled at how many times players just stayed at one end of the court...

    No sellout tomorrow?

Give the students a break this year. If UConn is anything like a few northeastern colleges I know, a lot of them are suffering from Covid, flu and bad head colds right now. Dorms are a war zone. Those of you who are parents with kids away in dorms, check in with them. Crazy.
