Keep getting emails and seeing it posted everywhere .. to wear white. I recall going to the first ever basketball ESPN College Game day at Storrs a few years back... Still have my Calhoun bobblehead. If I recall and I may be mixing up games ... it was a blizzard so UConn students got in free from those who forfeited their tickets and gample was 95% students ... it was LOUD... even though we lost. Anyone here going to the Gameday Saturday? Gamples going be rocking come tip off. I really wish Calhoun could be there because it would have been insane.
I have work, but I will be at the game. They still do the highlights show the hour before the game, right? Will it be broadcast throughout the arena? Trying to decide if I should get in there early.
It was against Pitt, and I believe it was the first ever edition of ESPN Gameday for hoops. The school was using the internet as hard as it could to get people who couldn't get there to call in their seat numbers so they could fill those seats with students. And, at least on TV, it was an amazing crowd.
Got to meet Bilas the night before when they came to do the women's gameday (2 years ago?) Does anyone know if they are going to be doing the interviews at the student union Friday night with students as they did on that trip?
I know last time Gameday fell over winter break so they were able to have that talk at the union. Since we are in school right now, the union will be busy regardless of Gameday. Last time I spoke with the marketing department they were considering moving that talk outside with the Jonathan statue as a backdrop and right next to all of the tents. I think that would be a really interesting and unique place to do to that.
In person it was amazing ... was still able to get lower level student section but heck thinking back I should have gone for the sidelines.
