Tuesday marks a very special Pro Day at UConn featuring NFL Combine performers and former Huskies Byron Jones and Geremy Davis, as well as several other Huskies pursuing their dream.

A record number of NFL personnel could descend on Storrs to see if Jones can be as good as he was pull at the Combine in Indianapolis last month, where he set a world record in the broad jump (12 feet 3) and was a half-inch off he Combine record in the vertical jump at 44.6 inches.

"I thought what he did was phenomenal," said Brown, who played eight seasons with the Patriots, earning All Pro honors in 1991-93 before retiring in 1995. "I've got buddies in the league who called me about him but I've said this too before the Combine: He is a tremendous athlete and tremendous player and a tremendous person. I'm really hoping he falls into the Pats lap with the last pick of the first round but I seriously doubt it now. Funny thing is, before the combine, the draft experts like Kiper kept talking about how good Byron Jones looked on tape and how his numbers would really affect how high he goes. Now I wonder if his overall numbers are more impressive than his film. He played hurt his Sr year too.

I agree, but many a player has seen their stock sky rocket at the combine with Mike Mamula the poster child for this. Conversely, many good players have dropped because of their combine numbers. Scouts are just enamored with the workout warriors.

Byron Jones is a 6'1", 200-lb CB with outrageous athleticism & arms as long as Richard Sherman. I'll be stunned if he's not picked in RD 1.
