Uconn Baseball Weekend Series vs. ECU

Tabakman is pitching one of his better games today, but a two out double comes around to score. 1-0 for East Carolina after the top of the fifth. Is it my imagination, or do the Huskies generally don't do much on offense for Tabakman when he is on the mound?

They always seem to struggle offensively on Sundays.

My goodness guys, leadoff double by Sundberg and then Siena and Melley strike out and McDowell grounds out to end inning.
If you want to play ball in June you can't take days off. Frustrating watching this team at times.

And what seems to always happen to Tabakman he loses his command in the 7th and walks two guys. Bases loaded with 1 out and they are bringing in Darras which makes me even more nervous as he has control issues. Keep your fingers crossed.

The funny thing is this is one of Coach Penders pet plays. He seems to love employing this play on offense when he has the chance.

Like I've said before, Penders just doesn't have the faith to go to the bullpen in a tight situation late in the game. The result is that the weekend starters tend to go longer than they should.
