UConn 2nd Team to Reach F4 Without playing AP Top 25 Team

UConn in reaching the Final Four due to upsets , did not play a team ranked in the AP Top 25 at Season end. Rutgers was ranked in the Coaches Poll at #22 Dayton will be ranked in the Final Poll after the Final Four.

Kind of think that if a 37th ranked team like Dayton beats the teams ranked 11th and 8th, then they get to claim those spots for themselves and consider themselves a top 10 team, which they have certainly played like for two weeks. Then again, the UConn guys have twice claimed NCs when they weren't in the top 20 in the rankings at the start of the Tourney, so kind of think the rankings can be tossed to the winds when teams get down to business in March and start playing for the real thing.
