Because the P5 conferences want to brag and owning the NE will solidify the B1G as the most prestigious conference pushing out the BE2 as a player.

The Compactness of Connecticut give rise to a variety of activities ,
You could stay in New York,or Boston ,and still catch the game
You can go to a RI or even a Cape beach early.
I entertained many Midwesterners though the years
Going to the Ocean and fresh seafood were always high on the least
You can also drive to Vermont in the Fall for leaves or ski in November
Other food varieties also abound including the best Best PIzza in the world.

Being geographically small will make UConn a B1G favorite destination
You also have access from a bunch of airports.
Getting into Ct is a lot easier than say Lincoln Nebraska

The oldest colonial towns are already setting themselves up for tourism. Especially in Hartford County. Southeastern CT can fare very well in the future, too. I don't think southwestern CT would welcome tourism.
