The action heats up in the conference tournaments, and another one of Creme's Last Four Out (and ahead of Tulane) is getting sliced into 300 pieces by MSU.

Big stuff for the SEC since 6 teams have nailed down Tourney spots with winning conference records, even if LSU is at 16-12 and #55 in Sagarin. But for the SEC to get more than 6 teams, one or two of the teams with losing conference records must come through, and they are matched against each other today sporting varying degrees of unworthiness.

Arkansas (16-12, 6-10, Sags #39) would seem to be a long shot because of the lousy SEC record, but Creme has them in, and the Sags rating is decent and they are 4-7 against the T50.
versus
Mississippi (17-12, 7-9, Sags #76) would seem to be a no go because of the very bad rating, but a couple of SEC teams were selected last year with 7-9 records.

The two teams are almost even at the half.

Georgia (18-11, 6-10, Sags #42) again seems doomed by its bad conference record, but tradition, overall record, and decent Sags rating may give the Bulldogs a chance despite being 1-8 in the last 9.
versus
Missouri (17-12, 7-9, Sags #65) would seem to have a better shot than Georgia except that the bad rating and they're 2-8 versus the top 50.

Not that much going on elsewhere for the bubble barring major upsets, but WSU despite a 7-11 PAC record is seen as being at the far edge of possibility, and its up against Oregon today.
