When it comes to college sports play however, it is primarily football, not basketball, that drives the money train for leagues looking for potential members to their league and to have them make more money.. Had Uconn won these titles in football, they could write their ticket to any league in the country. This is of course no great revelation to you, of course. It is not lost that the rumored interest in Memphis and Cincy by the B12 are with 2 schools left behind by the P5 that are currently at or near the top of the AAC in football.. You should be able to connect the dots to that, and understand that one's success in basketball ( as great as it has been ) is not what is going to someday have the P5 leagues sit up and take notice at what is happening at Uconn.
Memphis was at the BOTTOM of the league in football just last year.
If you are making invites based on 1 football season than the people responsible for realignment should be locked away in an institution.
