What about cassell? He's not shooting much better. Relax bro, nobody is shooting it well tonight and the roles/rotation is different with Purvis hurt.

There is a vast difference between Cassell and TSam in the shooting category. TSam's range is about a layup and that is about the only thing he should ever be taking. Cassell is just slightly off; you can tell he can shoot it- TSam? Not so much.

What I really took from it was that we need Purvis to be a scoring threat, and Facey deserves some passes in the post.

T-Sam should never, ever be allowed to shoot. Ever.

Did I say ever?

It is a worse shot than mine, and that's saying a lot.

Cassell is a gunner, not a shooter - he'll hit 33% of his threes when all is said and done.

Samuel just can't shoot.

Tsam is what he is a backup. Pt grd for defense and for a change of pace. If purvis doesn't get hurt he doesn't play as much. He should never be in the starting lineup. His handle is still a little weak and he can't shoot to save his life. He is a hustle guy who we needed due to the injury.

Wow - that's a bit un-fishy like. We're 4 or 5 games in. Give him half a season before you call him a gunner. Damn.

The team was down 50-44 with some momentum when he turned the corner and pulled up for a contested midrange jumper that bricked badly. He should never, ever do that again.

No - he's a gunner.

He's taken 24 shots this year and 18 have been threes. That lines up with what he did last year, although his percentage thus far is pretty dreadful.

He was setting up Boatright for the blocked shot-three pointer 1-2 punch. Boat just missed the 3. That was maybe the one shot that maybe could have totally changed the game. It would have been like the Brimah three-block possession against Dayton.

But yeah - Samuel shouldn't be dribbling into an 18-footer early in the shot clock pretty much ever. We'll maybe let him try in the senior year national championship game if he's feeling like Ricky, but let's hold off until then.

Its not like many of them have been tightly contested or out of the flow of the offense,he needs to keep taking those and hopefully start knocking them down.

ace you can't possibly be blaming this loss on T-Sam. He was one of the few that played with any heart and determination. Facey was another positive that deserves more touches in the post. This game was lost in the first 8 minutes with Boatright not being able to break the press and Purvis blowing an easy dunk while also hurting his hand. Together those two things deflated the entire team.

He's definitely a chucker... If he ends up hitting 33% from 3 then he is ridiculously similar to his pops.

No doubt that on November 23rd you are correct.

We don't need Cassell shooting seven or eight three-pointers a game.

He shot 213 of them in 30 games last year and made 71 - too expensive. (His in-conference numbers were actually pretty bad - 28%)

Move around a little, kid. He's also a guy who shot 80% from the line - I'd rather see that than have him camping out behind the arc.

if tsam can't shoot that he'll be a good pass first/drive to lane PG... he'll work on it, just surround him with people who can

It's kind of stunning how wrong you can be. T-Sam was a liability with the ball the entire season, a turnover when he's shooting anything other than a layup and a 50% layup shooter. He can have the heart of a hundred lions and be as determined as a hurricane, but it doesn't change the fact that he should never be the option to shoot a jumper and he didn't really handle all that well to boot. And finally, Purvis hurt his foot or ankle - not his hand.

Mind boggling.

He did hurt his hand a little as well although that wasn't the cause of his bad play. T-Sam should ideally be our 6th man off the bench I don't disagree with that, but considering the options he really is our second best ball handler as a guard. My point is when Samuel does anything well everyone likes to dismiss it as he is a bench player, but Purvis is just rusty or injured the excuses never end for the Ferrari.

T-sam was pretty much the only guy out there competing for most of the game. If you want to start a thread criticizing a player it's not hard to find someone else.

I guess you missed Kentan Facey beasting inside? Don't insult our other players.

Samuel was competing, but so was everyone else. Right? Missed shots and turnovers do not equate to lack of effort.
