Abortion and contraception ARE legal as has been determined by SCOTUS. I accept that as the law of the land regardless of my personal views on the subject, which have evolved. I don't pretend to be God, nor does my pay grade allow me to know for certain when life truly begins.

If you know with certitude when life does in fact begin, I'd genuinely appreciate you sharing the info.

They don't like that argument. That's why they don't argue it, they only argue "women's rights".
Nope and again, no one is forcing anyone to be Catholic, no one is forcing anyone to work for a Catholic organization, no one is forcing anyone to use or not use birth control, no one is preventing anyone from obtaining birth control. The churches objection was to paying for the birth control, which the government was trying to force the church to do.

I personally have no horse in this race (other than religious freedom). I am not Catholic (Protestant, so I don't even like the Catholics ), don't work for any Catholic organization, my wife uses birth control (not for birth control though), have nothing against birth control (in fact can think of many people who should use it - not implying your or any other libs mother ;) ).

I look forward to my refund check for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Furthermore, when you employ people, you are expected to follow certain rules and regulations. Like not denying them the right to affordable birth control simply because you don't believe in it. Religious freedom doesn't give you the right to deny someone cancer treatment because it's God's Will you got cancer. This is no different. It's no religious freedom. You don't get to pick and choose which services to offer.

Furthermore, the compromise already gives the Catholics a way out of it, forcing the insurance companies to provide it. But apparently that's still too much. Even allowing someone ELSE to provide birth control to their employees is apparently outrageous.

    Please.

I doubt your opposition to the wars was based on any religious belief. Nice try.

The church is trying to force people to.be catholic. That's the point. They won't be required to pay for it. In fact, providing birth control is cheaper for the insurance companies.

So the answer is "NO, you do not believe birth control should be available to women". Your conflation of abortion and birth control is ridiculous and will be ignored.

Must be nice to be treated differently simply because you have religious beliefs. I didn't know the First Amendment covered that.

In fact, this is one of my issues with religion. During a draft, if a Quaker says he doesn't want to go to war, he doesn't have to go. If I write a term paper about my moral and philosophical opposition to war, I'll still get drafted.

Not a fan of the way religion is handled with kid gloves, honestly.

    Theory vs Praxis.

A real conscientious objector leaves a paper trail and declares before they get drafted. Belonging to an organization with a long standing tradition of conscientious objection helps. Waiting until the call up is a bit late.

But of course you knew that/ You just felt like whining.
