They're 5 and 12, I believe over their last 17 games. Looks like they'll miss the playoffs AGAIN.

Will they keep buying (and selling!) the "young team and lots of injuries" line?

Do they think if they keep getting lottery draft choices that EVENTUALLY they'll make the playoffs again?

Or will they finally throw in the towel and get a new coach?

I'd go for a new coach and probably a new GM as well. Shake up the organization completely.

They overachieved early on. Without Chiney, it looked like a grim season, but expectations rose with their strong start. I think that Washington, New York, and Chicago are better. Indiana may be. And Atlanta has lots of talent.

exactly its not their fault, they competed... but other teams have more better/seasoned players. someone has to end up in the cellar

Thomas, Chiney, Williams, injured, but decent young players, win lottery, and get Stewie, they become a contender.

As bad as the injuries have been for the CT SUN if Mike T. was still coaching them they would have made the playoffs each of the last 3 years! He's taken a Washington team that missed the playoffs every year and they're now highly competitive and they've gone to the playoffs the last 3 seasons!
Sun Management Mitchell Etess ( now retired) and Chris Sienko got drunk Nov. 1st and fired Mike Nov. 2nd 3 years ago because he didn't win a Championship while there! In their 3 greatest seasons where they made the Division Finals or WNBA Finals each year a star got hurt and knocked them out! One year it was Keesha Sales, another was Lindsay Whalen, and Katie Douglas went down hurt! Each of those girls finished high in the MOP voting in the WNBA and either played hurt or missed the finals completely!
He is always voted one of the top 2 or 3 coaches in the WNBA and the SUN GM Chris Sienko waited 2 1/2 months after firing Mike then hired AD! When Washington plays in CT, Mike still gets cheered and AD gets booed!
Chris Sienko should be fired after this season with AD and bring in a new GM and Head Coach!

I think they might want to replace the strength & conditioning coach, if they have one. All these players getting injured? IMO it might have something to do with conditioning or lack thereof.

Rumor had it in her other coaching stops AD was having 3+ hour practices! If this was and still is true that may be a major cause of so many of the injuries! A large majority of coaches, not just WBB coaches, agree after 2 to 2 1/2 hours you're only hurting your athletes! The running, the jumping up and down, and the physicality of this sport would seem to wear on an athlete over a long season!

They're back... marginal fans of the W, speculators and haters, missing from the scene when the Sun were winning, show up now to joyfully bayonet the (literally) wounded.

Calling obvious speculation "fact" doesn't fly when UCONN is the topic. Guess it's OK for the Sun.

As a new Sun fan... seems that the GM has done a pretty good job.... at least in the past two years.

The Sun may be setting but the Fever is rising. Indiana is now 1 game behind the Liberty. There is not a hotter team in the WNBA.

As much as I do not like seeing our home team loose it is actually a good thing. With the WNBA Draft changing to two final standings it give Connecticut a good chance at probably getting the Number 1 overall pick. Yes its a 1-in-4 chance but that is 25%. It would be great to have at least one of the top-3 picks. Stewie goes No. 1 to whomever has the selection. MoJeff is going to be a Top-4 pick. Then they need to dump Donovan. Hire a very good assistant coach from the college or pro level and take all of these young players to the promised land.

They currently sit at number three; need SA to win some games!

Well the Stars have six games left. They play the Storm twice, the Sparks, the Sun, the Mercury and the Shock. Chances are good that they could possibly win a few of those games. Cross our fingers.

The Sun has games left against the Mercury, the Liberty twice, the Sky twice, the Fever and then the Stars. There can be a chance that they don't win any more games. I would hope not. It may be very close. Guess we will find out in a few weeks.

Hopefully Stewie goes to Seattle, or the Suns, the San Antonio roster is terrible, and Atlanta has Angel who shoots too much. Wouldn't want Stewie to have to play with someone like that.

Isn't it amazing but when MN picked up Fowles all the talk was of 5 Olympians and what a lineup! Team chemistry and getting injured players back, Augustus & Whalen, fitting in their niche means everything! Right now my favorite teams are MN & NY, who would have thought the Liberty might finish higher than the Linx!

Oh please, if that was the case the woofing would have started much earlier. The problem for the Sun is that to them, making excuses for losing is just as good as winning. The goal is staying employed and that will happen as long as they can say that winning is just around the corner. Here's the ironic thing. they canned the previous coach because he couldn't win the big one in the playoffs. Look at this group. This year and last they had a nice winning streak in the 2nd quarter of the season. But both years they couldn't even wait to end of the season to start losing. Now's the time to switch gears. Thank AD for the "rebuild" and bring in a players coach.
