Bria Hartley joined Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi as the only Huskies to record 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a career.

Breanna Stewart reached 1,000 points in just her 63rd game at Connecticut. Only Maya Moore did it faster, needing just 55 games.

I wonder if Renee was close?

Good question. Per Wikipedia (which probably means Phil), Renee had a whopping 1,990 points, 632 assists, and 358 rebounds. That Bria Hartley is a rebounding machine! :)

Yes, congrats to Bria !!! I thought they should have made more of it at the game, so the least we can do it trumpet it here.

That's a small, select group, which means Bria has done something some very, very good players have not done.

Sales came to mind, but she fell short on assists, with "only" 371.

Ann Strother was closer, but also falls short on assists with 418.

Rizzotti has the points and assists, but comes up short on rebounds with 459.

Shea Ralph misses due to assists, 456

Laura Lishness meets rebounds and assists but falls short with points, 1303.

Abrosimova misses with assists, 473, only 27 short and would easily have made it barring injury. She's the closest to being the fourth member of the select group, if my cursory review of the stats is any good.

If the club was defined as double digit scoring, plus 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, which would roughly translate to 1500 points 525 rebounds and 525 assists in a 150 game career, then the club would be Taurasi, Moore, Hartley and Abrosimva.

I realize it isn't defined that way, but I just want to emphasis that on a per game basis, Svet in is the same league.

This isn't meant to reduce Bria's accomplishment, it anything it helps to put it in perspective. Many very fine players excel in one or two areas, only a small handful excel in these three areas.

I remember when I announced she'd be coming to UConn... over Kentucky!

The Huskies are now 16 blocks short of team record of 250 set by Lobo and Wolters' 1994-95 squad. Kara said last night that she's sticking with her squad to hold on to the record like the old traditionalist she is. But next game is at Houston, and last time UConn played them they collected 17 blocks, so a repeat of that feat gets the record. After that is SMU, and the Huskies nabbed 14 blocks against them in the previous game.

So either way Kara, I think that's one proud record the old guard is going to be parting with very soon.

Team historian Carl Adamec discovered that Kerry Bascomb reached 1,000 points in her 62nd game, so Breanna (and Sveta) rank 3rd on list of fastest to 1,000 points.

I was wondering about that since she was at 882 for 56 games through her sophomore year, but I don't have access to game-by-game stats from back then for the most part. The only less fast part about Kerry's feat was that it didn't come until her junior year, but she didn't get to play 30 games in a season until she was a junior.

Also wondering about Christine Gedney, who had 943 points in 58 games through her junior season. She averaged 15.5 points in her senior season in 1990-91, and at that pace she would have had more than 1000 by her 62nd game like Kerry. But I'm not sure how many points she scored early in the season, though UConn scored 87 or more points in four of them.

I remember meeting her at a game at Gample after she verballed. She met a few Boneyarders that day and I took a picture with her. It's when I knew she wasn't 5'7".

Bria said this last night:

“I’m technically 5-9. I’m just saying …,” Hartley said with a laugh.

That was actually Breanna's 63rd Game. Whilest I do not teach Math.... and I am no expert on Common Core... it appears that she played 36 games last season and scored 497 points. She scored her 1000th point yesterday in her 27th game of the season. 36+27 is 63.... thus she ties Svet for second and leaves KML in fourth as it took her 64 games.

And then if you add in the info about Kerry Bascomb if it is true, I do not know... that would affect these numbers again.
