Hate to be negative here, but if a guy who transferred closer to home so his cancer-ridden father could watch him play can't get a hardship waiver, then a guy who spent 2 months in community college after playing 2 consecutive seasons isn't going to get one either.

We'll see Levenberry next year, the media may as well focus on the guys we know are going to be available.

I'd actually rather have Levenberry sit this year. I don't see us going bowling with or without him, so we might as well have him for 2017.

And if UConn does make a bowl, it make the defense in 2016 and 2017 that much more formidable.

don't want to see Levenberry in 2015... Let him get a little more acclamated to the school/football culture in Storrs behind the scenes, then burst on the scene in 2016.

Unlike others, I'd like to see Levenberry as soon as possible. I don't enjoy playing for the future. I want the best possible team out there as soon as possible, especially knowing how critical football is to our entire athletics department future.

Also, I might be reading too much into the tweets, but it sounds to me as though Shirreffs is the one to beat at this point. And to me, that's a good sign...

Levenberry is a transfer. Transfers typically sit out a year. They are applying for a waiver, but realistically probably won't get it. Jimmy and Tuck are playing the odds.

I'm with you. I value redshirting more than the last two staffs but this is a huge year.

I don't think it is a question of valuing redshirts. Levenberry in all likelihood will not be granted the waiver. Anyone know what the waiver would be for? I don't recall the reason was given.

Redshirts are most useful IMO to develop during freshman year. A redshirt after that a normally by mistake. Jimbo Fisher determined that this kid was field ready when he got to Tallahassee, but given a new environment and strategy, I'd like him to get on the field as soon as he is ready. Whether that is 2015 (if the waiver is granted) or 2016 is best left up to better football minds than mine.

You are allowed to play right away from JUCO. The kid enrolled at Juco from FSU before coming here. The question is does the year off for moving BCS to BCS still apply. That's what the waiver would be though it's not really a waiver, more of a clarification.

My guess is that if you play FBS, you can't play for another FBS within the same calendar year regardless of the route one takes to get there.

How long was he in JUCO? He played for FSU in 2014 right? This is a slippery slope. Levenberry was in the 2013 recruiting class and played 2 seasons at FSU (25 games I think I read somewhere). If all that is required is a transfer to a JUCO for the spring semester, and obtain a non-hardship waiver to be able to play in consecutive seasons at different schools, it would establish a bad precedent against the NCAA.

I don't expect Levenberry to be declared eligible. I also don't think it's necessarily a bad thing.
